Okay, having some success , I like the star animations but I want the stripe animations to remain the same width but decrese in height. Not managing this atm. xar file attached.

Messing about with this some more. I couldn't get the stripes just to grow in the vertical plane so I've left them stationary. Added some highlight/lowlights over the flag, at one time I had these animated but it was buggy with the method I was using, so I deleted that animation. Here's the latest rendering:
