Dear developers, in the new Xara Designer Pro version are you planning to include Windows8 support and interface suitable for sensor control like Ribbon or Modern UI (Metro UI)? It would be really handy to draw on tablet PCs with convenient interface.
And if you are considering adding a Ribbon-type interface, please please PLEASE include an option to turn it off, for those of us who despise the Ribbon with ever fiber of our being.

Xara Designer Pro X works very well in Windows 8 and so do the other versions.
What is there about the Metro UI that some people like it and some people despise it?

if you have a win7 system working great and it does just what you want - why change it - ok I don't need to yet, but as I have it set as far as is possible to be like XP, ccould I do this on win 8, will I be able to do it on win 9?
I appreciate the commercial need for new product, and for new features, but if I buy a licence I should have support for as long as I need it, or pay extra for as long as I need iit...

From my experiece Windows 8 isn't an upgrade but a let down. I will stick with Windows 7.
If it lets me use my 3TB external drive for backup, I'm upgrading.
every pc i have is windows 7 except my main workhorse which is vista 64 ultimate

but my workstation never crashes
and that is hyper important for daily workflow

never got round to installing yet
will do so when vista gets unstable

win8 isn't even on my horizon unless it's preinstalled on something i buy
It's been mentioned elsewhere that there seems to be a rule that a relatively decent iteration of a Microsoft OS will always follow a crappy one, and vice versa. Thus:
Windows 3.1: Decent enough to be industry standard for many years (not that it was great, there was just no alternative at the time)
Windows 95: A step up in the UI dept, but horribly unstable
Windows 98: Worked out a lot of the bugs (though not all)
Windows ME: Reintroduced a lot of those bugs
Windows XP: 10 years old now and still industry standard in many places
Windows Vista: Introduced a lot of unwanted security features, very bloated
Windows 7: A step up in almost every sense. We have it installed on 6 out of the 8 PCs in our house (the other 2 are Linux machines).
Windows 8: I don't know why anyone would think that I want my desktop to look like an iPhone, thank you very much
I'll be on the lookout for Windows 9, but until then I'm very happy with what I have installed now.
