rotation of photos on import
photos taken with my samsung galaxy [jpgs] rotate when imported into xara - either 90/270 or 180 degrees
does not happen with my image viewers, affinity photo, or any other program I use
I think this may have come up before but can't remember...
It is a nuisence - why?
Re: rotation of photos on import
The iPhone has an option when downloading images to my computer to rotate photos. Normally I don't enable that option, but once when I did I noticed that certain photos did rotate and not in a way I desired. Probably info in the photo that says how it is to be oriented that Xara is reading.
Re: rotation of photos on import
I use an Andoid phone, but I don't think it's a Xara problem. Some of my photo's have autorotated in Zoner Photo Studio
Re: rotation of photos on import
thanks keith - if they all rotate the same way, it's straight forward to reset them all, trouble is that's not always the case
Re: rotation of photos on import
handrawn, just tried four rotated phone shots with my Galaxy S8 and all came across with the right orientations.
I dragged from the phone to the desktop and then into Xara as the XDA does not recognise the phone as a valid path/device.
I'll report back if they are any different when they arrive in the Cloud (OneDrive).

ok - attached is an example - apologies for the subject matter to city dwellers who think that such things are someone else's problem

I copy the files from samsung to desktop and import to xara from there

Re: rotation of photos on import
thing is - they are ok in all my programs including image viewers, it's only xara that does this on my system
but.... the article you linked refers to this link https://www.howtogeek.com/254830/why...ectly-rotated/
could it be that xara does not obey the Exif tag ?
