Photo of sculpture overlaid with transparent vector shapes.
I really like this piece of sculpture by Huw M Jones (The Journey) found in the railway station at Hull (North East, UK) and thought it would be an interesting exercise to give it a virtual paint job. Normally it's a light grey colour.
Incidentally the blue circular plaque on the wall is to honor David Bowie's backing group 'The Spiders From Mars' who, back in the day used to set off on their travels from the station.

Did you use Multiply or Color for your transparency type? Color works well when the selection is medium gray.

An inventive approach and a satisfying result. Visually interesting.

a definate improvement... and at least you resisted temptation to be Larkin around :D
[for those not familiar with Hull Paragon station, his statue is some few yards to the right as you look at Jono's picture]

I actually left it on 'Normal' and just changed the transparency to 61%, but have just had a quick look at multiply and colour. Colour is actually more along the lines of what I wanted to achieve. More of the original shadow and highlight detail below shows though.

Thanks. I've never thought of doing this sort of thing before now. Probably best for geometric shaped projects.

Hehe, yes! Although I do like that one as well, though obviously there's quite a contrast in styles. It might in fact be the juxtapositioning that I really like - classical vs industrial sort of thing.
