MovieMaker install problem
In an attempt to configure MenuMaker with FrontPage, as indicated in MM help, I uninstalled MM and tried to reinstall. Everything went well until the setup screen seemed to hang. Thinking I should finish by clicking the Cancel button, I cancelled the dialog but that seemed to hang. I finally deleted the dialog with TaskMgr.
I reinstalled again then, because MM did not appear in Windows Add/Remove programs CP, I deleted the files and directories and reinstalled. Same problem.
I rebooted and repeated the reinstall. Same problem.
At this writing, it has been 25 minutes since my last reinstall and the setup dialog is still there.
I have a lot of stuff on my machine and I presume MM Setup is searching my registry. Should it take this long to set up MM?
Can anyone help?
Ron
Re: MovieMaker install problem
Hi Ron,
An install should not take that long.
I would recommend rebooting your computer. Temporarily disconnect from your network (internet) connection and turn off your security software.
Also turn off any other software that autostarts at boot up.
Install MenuMaker. After the install has finished reboot and allow your security and any other bootup programs to run.

Soquili
Success!
I tried your suggestion and it worked. My problem must have been rooted in either too many files open or my security programs were running. Everything is working now.
Note that I revised the title error. Must have Movie Maker on my mind.
Thanks for your help.
Ron
