Option to keep same fill & line colors when switching tools
Okay, so there was some discussion in a recent thread (http://www.talkgraphics.com/showthre...-X10-Fill-Line) about selecting colors, and how there are instances where I'll go to select a fill color, and it sets the fill and the line, and then I have to go through extra steps (well, one step, but they add up) to get rid of the line color that was just selected.
Phil was nice enough to explain what's causing this behavior, and basically it's down to the fact that the shape tool treats selecting a fill color with *no* object selected the same as selecting a fill color with an open line selected (ie: both fill and line get assigned).
What I'm asking for is the option to not do that. When I'm using the shape tool, whether I have an object selected or not, I want to select a fill (and only a fill) by left-clicking on the color palette, and I want to select a line (and only a line) by right-clicking. If there were an option to not select both fill and line at the same time, I'd definitely use it.
About 80% of what I do in Xara involves the shape tool, so I'm a bit particular about how it functions.

Hi Ben,
Do you usually have GNOMRA, "Give new objects most recent attributes", turned on or off?

I keep that option turned off.

I realize that the title of the thread should probably be edited to better reflect what I brought up in the actual post: left-click for fill, right-click for line, and not mixing the two.

I'll second this and in the freehand tool too - thanks Phil for the explanation in the other thread
