Please help with my not so large XARA Web Designer file :-)
Dear XARA community,
I really want to continue using XARA. I am a former webplus user for years, have spent weeks learning Xara and building on it and I don't want to think life is over for this application. Unfortunately, when I try to update the text boxes the response rate is very slow. In fact, I type and then I don't see the letters for a few seconds. I have attached the file, to see if someone is will to see if it is the file or my computer.
Thanks to anyone who is willing to help,
Jody (Teachtopia)

My apologies for my poor grammar above. I was just a little too quick on posting. Anyways, if someone is willing to examine my file for speed issues that would be more than great. Thanks!:)

The .web file took very long to load but finally did. But that didn't surprise me when I saw it contains 123 pages! This probably causes updating text across variants to slow down too. I notice the same lag on my computer (Intel Xeon 2.4 GHz, 24 GB, Windows 10 Pro 64-bit). You might want to cut up the site into smaller 'bites' or else learn to live with it. The site itself is quite responsive after publishing it locally, which didn't even take that long.

This is an old XaraXone tutorial but the method is still good. This deals with breaking a large website into smaller connected websites that is easier to work with.

How would SEO work with this kind of arrangement?
Re: Please help with my not so large XARA Web Designer file :-)
Like others to load your web file took an eternity on my old machine. I wouldn't create a site with that many pages either, but that said there's very little content at present on your site, so what's slowing it to crawl. I noticed the following:
You have a header advert 'Amazon K2 Teaching Resources' on almost all pages. These are not repeating although they are on most pages. They also are set to 'Regenerate placeholder image automatically'. The same is true for the Disneyland official album.
I wondered if the non repeating was an issue so created a test site with 124 pages, pasted in both adverts but changed the fill to flat fill rather than an image. I also unchecked the 'Regenerate placeholder image automatically'. Then proceeded to 'Copy on All Pages'. Closed the web file. Reopened & it opened smartly with little delay. I then deleted these Ads from all pages and re-pasted the original Ads with the 'Regenerate placeholder image automatically' set and set to repeat on all pages. Saved & closed. Reopened again smartly without issue.
Finally I deleted all the ads from all the pages again and this time pasted the ads as a non repeating object on each page (Ctrl+Shift+V) on 60 of the pages (couldn't do any more of this boring repetition!), saved closed and reopened and again fairly smartish.
So in conclusion I believe your .web file has become corrupted. Sen it to Magix support and see if they can locate the problem.

Good question Behzad. I did a trial site with a root & sub-folders. On publishing Xara only created a sitemap.xml file for the root page/s. But if you go to an online sitemap generator this creates a sitemap containing all the links within the navbar.
You can view the site here
Here's a link to the example website with sub-folders:

Dear Egg Bramhill,
Thanks so much for your help. I have spent hours with your advice and you were more than right about the adverts being the problem. The best scenario (I tried several) was when I removed all the adverts and then used the repeat on all pages function as opposed to the separate instances which occurred before. The text boxes have improved 95 percent and the pages are now workable.
Thanks Again!!
