Secret Garden icon/logo Challenge
Just for fun and all submitted artwork to be free for use by all peoples of the world ;)
I'm sure many towns & cities have similar events called "Secret Gardens" whereby on one or two days a year private gardens are opened to the general public to view & enjoy.
This challenge is to create an icon or logo to represent these "Secret Garden" events.
Get your creative juices flowing and let's see what TG members can create in Xara. :)

Just a seedling idea - plenty of room for future growth...

For info the leaves are symbols (search for leaf) and the font is 'Clicker Script' (a Google font)

Re: Secret Garden icon/logo Challenge
@Rik. Yes, great. Like Ernie's it works at small sizes to.
@Jono. Like that a lot. Perhaps the text could be bark coloured?

Great entries Roly & Ernie. But have to admit my personal favorite is Riks entry, I particularly like the single coloured one.

Re: Secret Garden icon/logo Challenge
I decided to try a different take on it. Rather than locks and keys I tried to manipulate the word secret to give the impression of an open gate :)

Holy cow, after seeing these submissions, I am embarrassed to submit mine.
Oh well here it is anyway.

EDIT: I must think differently than you guys, I guess I think like an illustrator, not like a graphic artist.

A revision...I've posted this poinsettia before, but I think it works better than a pile of leaves!

Had an idea, so, I thought I would try it out to see what it turns out like?!

Re: Secret Garden icon/logo Challenge
A couple of suggestions:
Ernie, your Escher triangle could be a hedge?
Bob, What if you lose the stuff inside, make your circle thicker on the inside? It could even be made into a G?

I did this in 2004 but it seems appropriate to the thread.

Re: Secret Garden icon/logo Challenge
Cheers to you Egg.
It was good to have a challenge with a bit of a brief to give it purpose and direction. Although obviously I wish I had spent more time developing my idea seeing as there's now a vote on it! ;) It was interesting seeing the different approaches and thinking as they developed from entry to entry.
ps thank you for that vote, whoever you were :D

Thank you, Egg! :) Once, a long time ago, I had a client who was hard to please and he wanted a logo but he didn't know what he wanted exactly. So, over a period of about 4 days I made for him over 400 logos for him to choose from. That was the stupidest thing I had ever done because he still was not pleased. So, I just don't work with hard to please people. I avoid them like the plague...Now, all I make is 3 or 4 logos for a client. If they're not happy, they don't have to buy. I really don't care. But that making of over 400 logos in a short amount of time really helped me in "seeing" good logo designs for my clients ever since.
