Now select the flower shape and try to change
the line color.
In Xara 3.2, the line color does not change,
only could change the line width.
Please report results for your Xara version.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Could not set Line color for this shape
Hi Alejandro,
It is a strange problem.
I opened your file using Xtreme Pro 3.2.4, Xtreme Pro 4.0, Web Designer 5.0, Xtreme 5.1, and Xtreme Pro 5.1 and the outline colour does not change when I try to apply a new colour.
In all those programs I can correct the problem.
1. Select the shape using Selector Tool.
2. Switch to the Shape Editor Tool.
3. Marquee select all the point for the shape.
4. Use the smoothing slider and move the thumb to the far right (100%).
You can now change the outline colour.

Re: Could not set Line color for this shape
Easier way to do that Bill Is to go onto the colour line at the bottom of the screen. Right click the colour that you want and then select "Select Line Colour" and it changes. This was done on XPro 5.1 as all the rest have been un-installed.

Re: Could not set Line color for this shape
The only way I'm able to unlock the change of color was:
select the shape
press the 3D tool to convert it to a 3d shape
change the border color
press again the 3d button to eliminate the 3d effect
now you can change the color of the line as usual.
Best regards

Re: Could not set Line color for this shape
It is odd. How was the shape produced originally?
However, here's the method I used in Xtreme version 3.2 to solve the problem.
We have seen this problem before. It's not serious or dangerous but it would be intersting to know how the document was created and if the problem can be recreated repeatably.
The problem is that the shape has two line colour attributes, the user interface changes one of them but the rendering system renders the other, so it appears that nothing has changed.
The most direct way to get rid of the unwanted extra attribute is to group the object with something else, apply line colour, then ungroup.

Re: Could not set Line color for this shape
I thought that was all that I did! I remember doing the following unlocking the background colour, changing that, then bring up the colour editor, select line colour and bringing the cursor down which didn't change anything. Then trying "Ctrl+Shift+S and then going down to the colour line which changed the line and it worked which hasn't worked this morning. Goodness knows what I did. Call me a moderator phew!

snip...
i was able to find a recipe. Take a look at the file attached.
The recipe is as follows:
1) Select Flower (grouped vector graphic)
2) Use “Add shapes” to convert
graphics in solid shapes
3) Notice that vector graphics
are still grouped and line width
indicator shows “Many”
4) Use “Ungroup” on the selection.
Now the status line, at the bottom,
shows “1 shape on ...”
5) Use “Break shapes” on the selection.
There are four shapes.
6) Select the biggest shape and notice
that line width indicator shows “0 pt”
7) Change line width to any number,
but could not change line color...
