Corel Draw 11 export issue
Hello, I am in the sign industry and have run into a strange problem
I'm having with Corel Draw 11,
this is my problem
I created a sign which in dimensions was 139.885 inches long X 47.971 in wide
Now my problem is when I go to export this graphic as a 600 dpi tiff file,
the Image size in the bitmap export box changes to the following:
Imagesize 16.66667 12% inches
16.66667 35% inches
Resolution 600 dpi
ORIGINAL 300,000,000 bytes
NEW 102,870,000 bytes
these options are checked also
>antialiazing
>icc profile
>maintain original file size
maintain aspect ratio is grayed out,
Anybody else run into this problem
and if they have an answer
please email or post an answer
because I'm becoming very frustrated
trying to figure what settings I need.
Thanks

Re: Corel Draw 11 export issue
I'm sorry, I don't have that expertise to diagnose this problem, however, in graphics I have had to export for sign companies often making vinyl signs, they never wanted .tif, they needed a vector graphic, when the native .cdr file were not requested, they asked for .ai or .eps. Both of these formats can retain all the vector information.
Output to .tif seems to be tied to the sort of printer you are saving the file for, as the graphics scale to the fit on the page.
Perhaps this can be overcome in .pdf, using one of the professional printing selections rather than for web. I did my experiment on PDF/X1 and was able to make the .pdf.
Almost anyone can accept a .pdf. PDF can be set to hold both vector and bitmapped graphics. If you need bitmapped graphics, convert to bitmap before making the .pdf and all should go well.
Re: Corel Draw 11 export issue
It seems you're not resampling the image. You need to if you need a higher DPI at the original dimensions. I don't have V11, but you should just need to uncheck "Maintain Original file size" prior to resetting the DPI.
