3D viewport from Blender, Maya, 3D Studio or AutoCAD

Dear Xara,

Frecuently, Designers have to insert Bitmap 3D renders in their Xara documents.

Could you provide a 3D viewport or (at least) a widget that link to a saved
3D render image?

The purpose is to have an image (png or jpg) that updates itself inside Xara
when the 3D rendered image is updated in the 3D application.

Hi Al,

This would imply external references and that could be nice but I'm not sure if it will happen, Xara always had all inclusive files.

This being said it's fairly easy to drag an image file on the image in the Xara file and it will be updated while keeping it's postion, scale, etc...

that modify an image inside a Xara document.

Which mechanism use Photoshop plugins to write their results
to an image embedded inside a Xara document?
Could we use this same mechanism to modify an embedded image
that was rendered and exported by some 3d program?

Probably, the fastest solution is enabling automatic updates of bitmap images,
that is not as complicated as bidirectional OLE linking or mind boggling stuff like this:

Al, enabling OLE between Xara and a renderer would achieve very little as the change would still have to be publish.

My approach would be to use an IFRAME to a SketchFab file, https://sketchfab.com/features, which would be kept as an external asset to the Xara design.

Al, possibly add transparent=1 to the IFRAME code.
