Finding and removing extra spaces in text
I am formatting a paperback book in Designer Pro X 16. In text such as this the convention is a single space between sentences. But frequently the author inserts an extra space.
Finding and replacing the extra space is easy.
Insert the text cursor in the first line of text.
Do a Find/Replace (Edit menu). In the Search For box enter two spaces with the spacebar on your keyboard. In the Replace With box enter a single space.
Click Find Next.
When there are no more double spaces remaining a yellow box will appear indicating the End of Search.

Gary, what you ought to advise is if there is a triple space then that is converted to a double space that will not be identified on that particular sweep.
You have to repeat S&R until you get 0 occurrences.
The Scope needs to be set as All pages.
In passing, the Search & Replace pop-up stays open until closed so can be used anytime. It also jumps into the Text tool when used but doesn't revert to the tool you were using prior to the search or replacement.
The function would better serve us if it handled extended searches for fonts, characters, wildcards, styles and meta-characters (\n, \r, ...). As a minimum the Names gallery ought to be roped in.

I would like to see highlighted text remain selected so styles can be applied, such as italic and boldface. Even with the text highlighted and the text tool selected you still need to re-select the text to edit. And the ability to copy and paste formatted text in the replace with box would accomplish. e.g. Search for WORD Replace with WORD
