I have embedded a blog in my clients website here:http://sandysbythesea.com/blog.htm it is very easy to set up a blog using Blogger.com then embedding it in your website using the placeholder method. That way, other people can comment on your website. You can even not call it a blog, call it a comments or contact page, and just embed the blog anyway? Please let me know if this helps.
I've used blogger.com and customized the blog to look exactly like the website (http://charleswarrenauthor.com) but I also use PHP Jabbers (STIVA blog), who sell a blogging software you can put on the website and on the clients server too. Customizable and easy as well.
Thanks for your helpful comment, but how did you manage it so smoothly? I inserted HTML using the placeholder method, with spotty results.

you don't need to put in the sections highlighted in bold in the placeholder:
