'Tis a wondous facility we have been given.
What I don't understand is why, all of a sudden, so many folks are animating whereas previously this area was virtually ignored.
I think it is because most of the long time members did a lot gif animations when Xara X was first released six years ago. Now that Flash export is a feature of Xara Xtreme Pro, it's new again :)
And it's a challenge to see how far the limits can be pushed.
Hahahaha.
Bill, I like that button, especially the blue one with the extra highlighting that the others don't have.
Linear and Circular transparency is supported as long as the object has a flat fill. It you have an object with a gradient fill, then you can only use a Flat, Mix transparency.
Raymond, if you want to see what pushing the envelope is all about, look at some of the stuff the folks are doing with Xara 3D. This application was designed so people could add depth to text. What guys like Mike Simms have done is nothing short of genius.
Gary
I know, 'tis amazing what they are doing with what is allegedly supposed to be a simple prog for producing 3D text.
Not my thing, though, 3D - at least not at this time.
I'm on at least three different learning curves as it is.
3D gets too techie for me anyway and techie stuff makes my brain hurt.
Raymond, it could last longer than a month or so.....sorry Remi :)
Thanks Bob. I intended to have a lighter lower highlight on the red and green, but the colours didn't want to cooperate :D
Thanks for the info Gary.
Raymond,
The problem with animated gifs was basically their size and lack of control. The new swf option allows members to create resonably small files and add interactivity.Quote:
