Re: The November 2020 update to Xara Designer Pro X 17 available.
Was hoping someone might have noticed this. Maybe not. Now Pro+ and Pro X have disabled Line Ends and Line Join options. This screen shot is from the recent Pro X update.
Re: The November 2020 update to Xara Designer Pro X 17 available.
they are there in my pro+ gary - but you have to click on one of the gallery catagories [folders] for them to appear
Re: The November 2020 update to Xara Designer Pro X 17 available.
Just tried this and no joy. I selected arrowheads, selected a line and nothing. Same as my previous Pro X screenshot. And I DID just update my video card driver yesterday so I don't think that is the cause.
UPDATE: OK I see what you mean. But I have to open Lines and Hatching (art) because the other folders did not do it.
So I guess this is an improvement that enhances the user experience then?
Re: The November 2020 update to Xara Designer Pro X 17 available.
I have seen that previously on an earlier version Gary but I can't replicate it on Xara Designer Pro+ 20.5.0.60603 SL x64 Nov 10 2020
Re: The November 2020 update to Xara Designer Pro X 17 available.
as far as I can see you can click on any folder in the line gallery - also I think if you close the program with the line gallery showing once you have done this, they will be there when you reopen the program - otherwise you will have to click on a folder again
Re: The November 2020 update to Xara Designer Pro X 17 available.
A time back we complained that the program load time was very slow compared with other applications.
Xara did its usual and "sorted" it by deferring the loading in of the brushes.
In earlier versions this took around 5-10 seconds.
In Pro+, I have mine now in under three.
MS Windows "speeded up" W10 by loading in things until after login so it all looked whizzy.
Xara just left the brushes load until you need them.
That trigger is the clicking of a folder.
It would have been nice to add it in automatically after all documents were opened or at least "load in" the document brushes as it used to do.
I reckon is is a programmer's oversight and will magiclly be fixed sharpish.

I'm not going to hold my breath.

As Xara seems to take back the development and marketing of Designer, would it be possibly to leave the UI behind and get something decent (like it's first, admittedly, dull light gray) and less distracting interface?
