How does res. of 480 px look on the new iphones or anything new with higher resolution? Currently I am using 700 px for mobile which includes both phones and tablets.

Given that only 18% of screens have a landscape width > 667 browser pixels, why do you design for 700 pixels when the majority of popular mobile phone screens can't display it?Quote:

To add to Paul's comment, 480 pixels wide works fine for me on my iPhone X. The disclaimer is my eyesight is not that good. When I am looking at a site on my phone I am looking for information. So unless it is a photoraphy site where the extra resolution will allow the photos to be shown in detail larger, I really don't see the point.

I have no idea.
Just did a test and the 480 viewed horizontally moves and shifts left and right and there is plenty of space around it which looks odd, it only fits vertically on my phone which is a Samsung. My previous 700 px works perfectly and does not have the same issues. The desktop version fits on ipad vertically and horizontally. This takes me back to the scroll issue on the newer phone when viewed horizontally(phone view)
Here you go xara template made for 480 mobile, view it on your phone horizontally and you can move the screen left and right.
Like I said none of the 480 designs in xara template works with the new higher res. iphones and samsungs in horizontal view. Xara has acknowledged that and said will have a fix for but when, who knows........
