There has to be a way to do this...
Hey all,
This is what I'm wanting to do. I have an image opened and I have text covering the entire image from top to bottom and side to side. What I'm wanting to do is I want the text to have the pattern of the image inside of it, eventually remove the image and just have the text. The ending result is you'll be able to see the image in the text, but all that's left is text itself. I used to do this in Photoshop all the time, but I don't have it anymore. Is there a way to do this in PhotoImpact?
Thanks,
Jason

Make a selection from your text
1. Make your text
2. Show mask mode
3. Store selection
4. Delete text
5. Paste your image object
6. In selection manager make a new selection with the one you stored
7. move the image or selection to the area you want
8. invert selection
9. hit delete
All that will be left is the text shape of the image

Or....simply copy your image to the clipboard (right-click, copy), then make your text active and go to Edit, paste and use one of the options there such as Into Selection, Fit into Selection or Under Pointer.

Hi Pat. Nice to hear from you.
Yes, that is a much quicker method that I was heretofore unaware of. Just goes to show that there is always something new to learn.
