I didn't say, nor does Xara, that it restores back to the original location, just the image file can be saved into your file system.

whoa - look...
if you are like me, the likelyhood of the original still being where it was is small
but if it is, then Gary's search method will work, but i would most likely have offlined it to archive
you are arguing at cross purpose...
acorn - how to recover a copy
gary - how to find the location of the original
these are different things...
EDIT - acorn snuck in post as I was typing :)

In Xara Web Designer Pro x 11 i have dropped an image in - and now don't remember where it is stored or what it is called.. How do i find info/properties for an image and find out what folder i stored it in and what i named it??
handrawn, thank you for the intervention.
The analogy in my head is:
PERSON: "I've lost my keys to the house!".
ME: That's OK. I've the spares here."
PERSON: "But, I've lost MY keys!!"
ME: "But, you in the house. What you wanted was to get into the house, not just have some keys."
PERSON: "But the keychain has MY Squiggly the Dog toy!!!"
ME: "But we can relax over a tea and work out where you keys and Squiggly might be."
...
Getting the filename is the most important bit.
Using MS Windows to locate the right Squiggly the Dog is more problematic: I have 17 *squiggly.png files on my system (which I didn't even know about).
