Changing Four-Part Fill Shape
When I choose the Four-Part Fill, I get a rectangle. I want to change the shape of the fill by moving each of the four corner control points independently. I haven't been able to figure out how to do this. Is there a keyboard shortcut that allows one to select each control point and then move it independently?

Re: Changing Four-Part Fill Shape
i think I am right in saying it always stays a rectangle - but if you hold down shift as you drag it will skew
if you want four independant fills you may need to use four seperate transparencies to interact
Re: Changing Four-Part Fill Shape
Thank you.
I had tried Shift drag, but had had little if any control over how the skew proceeded. Armed with your response, however, I went back and just kept trying, getting strange shapes, until I finally lucked out and succeeded in getting the diamond shape I wanted. However, to reproduce it, I would have to go through the process of experimenting all over again, keeping my fingers crossed that I would again attain the desired shape. This says to me that I don't understand how the skew works!

Re: Changing Four-Part Fill Shape
Hi Lynn, Here is a diagram that shows the different nodes on the 4 colour fill and what they do when shift is held. This is also the same with a 4 point transparency.

Hey, that's great, Frances! I will snag your explanation and save it for reference. As I thought, it's more complex than just holding Shift down.
Thank you.

Re: Changing Four-Part Fill Shape
Sizing the fill handles and/or skewing them can make interesting changes.
Re: Changing Four-Part Fill Shape
Yes it can :) I noticed the same thing while checking it out for answering this thread.

Playing around with the fill handles gave me this result. Might be an interesting effect with some different colours.

Re: Changing Four-Part Fill Shape
Clone it change the colours and squash the fill in the other direction then add a 4 point transparency and squash that and you get this!
There could be some interesting effects possible here I'll have to play more when I get a chance.
