here is a 2009 article on his approach to drawing : https://www.theguardian.com/artandde...rry-on-drawing
Quote:
Once I have committed myself to a theme and structure, I snuggle into the comforting drudgery of copying out every detail of elaborate costumes, machines or buildings. I surround myself with stacks of source material: books, magazines, a computer. I am keenly aware of the limits of my imagination. I steal patterns, mimic styles, weld heads from 1960s photographs on to bodies from 18th-century prints.
I would be gob-smacked if he did not now use a cintiq...

I think you need to explain.
Whenever I see anyone using that expression, it just seems to be a way to dismiss and put down someone who's opinion isn't liked.
There's lot's of people I don't agree with, I rarely insult them, I can often understand why they feel as they do and often I can respect their position though it is different to mine. Often I can see that we have a lot of common ground. Now and again I can move my position on a subject or they can move theirs. Both sides benefit.
The world used to be a place where dialogue took place and common ground was found, but in the era of people calling people "snowflakes" it's a way of shutting down uncomfortable dialogue and feeling smug in your own position.
I look forward to the day when "snowflake" isn't used any more except to describe the weather.
