Web Designer Premium - index files - duplicates
I see in the "index_htm_files there are duplicates with new numbers assigned for instance 34953.png and 35959.jpg and they are the same files. Is there a way to clean this up since I would not normally put a duplicate picture on several pages and I'd like a cleaner folder, if I can.
Can I just delete the folder and save the website again and it would be okay?
Thanks much
Sue
Re: Web Designer Premium - index files - duplicates
Hi Sue.
If the program generates an image file, it is almost certainly referenced in the HTML code. If you delete one, it will leave a missing image on your page. You might consider naming one and copy/pasting it into the second place. That would force the generation of a single image file. Also, if the app is generating a png and a jpg for a duplicate image, consider marking which one is your preference in the image dialog tab. (By default, it tries to determine which is optimal... but it doesn't do a great job.)

Sue, you have the same master image. In your site, a copy on the page has a transparency or opacity that can only be rendered by a PNG. Xara preprocesses effects and will always produce several outputs. I use CSS to get past this.

Acorn, please explain how you get around it with CSS? I'd love to learn, if I can.

Sue, I need the link to the website so I can better advise.
It is also complicated by Xara's mucking up of Image Filename.
It might be a heavy learning session.
