Flash File Doesn't Display
Couldn't get the GIF animation file to display as Flash in Xtreme Pro Flash
Procedures
Made Animation in Animation Master (Hash, Inc.)
Exported Animation from Animation Master to Frames (AVI File)
Imported AVI File into JASC Animation Shop to convert to Animated GIF
Imported Animation GIF file from JASC Animation to Xtreme Pro
GIF Animation shows in Mozilla FireFox
PROBLEM: Flash Animation does not show in Mozilla FireFox
Same GIF Animation from Jasc imported into Swish Max, saves as working Flash File.
Same AVI from Animation Master (Hash, Inc) imported into On2 Flix, saves as working Flash File.
XAR file included
JPEG Screenshot of blank Flash Display in Mozilla Firefox Browser
Re: Flash File Doesn't Display
Hi
It's because the time that each frame is being displayed for is shorter then the frame rate of the flash animation.
solution:
Go to the flash options tab in the animation properties dialogue and change the frames per second value to 60. The frames are now shown.

Re: Flash File Doesn't Display
Not sure I am satisfied with that explanation.
Why it works in other applications with no glitches with no other modifications other than to import it and does not work Xtreme Pro?
This was imported into Swish Max as a GIF and exported as a Flash 8 file, no other modifications

Apologies, the graphical glitches don't actually exist. The file works fine if you increase the frames per second such that the time a frame is displayed for is less than or equal to the time between each of your frames is set to. For example, you selected 0.03 seconds per frame, however the default frame rate set by xara in the properties is 24fps = 1 frame in 0.04s. 0.03 is less than 0.04 so it wasn't shown. However, 60fps is 0.01s which is now less than your desired 1 frame every 0.03s. The global time resolution is now greater than that manually set by you in the frame gallery.
Re: Flash File Doesn't Display
Actually, I didn't set any frame time in Xara. The file was imported with the frame display timing of 0.03/s from Jasc Animation Shop.
The only action that was done was to open a new animation, display frame gallery, import GIF animation.
So, I tested with 0.04 frame/s
Imported into Swish Max:
Frame 1
+ Image position: (0, 0)
+ Image size: 98 x 86 pixels
+ Has Local Color Map: No
+ Image Interlaced: No
+ ExtensionBlock count: 3
* ExtensionBlock 0
* ExtensionBlock 1
* ExtensionBlock 2
+ Transparent color index: 253
+ Duration: 0.04 seconds
+ Effect: Leave image for overwrite
(31 Frames total each with identical information as frame 1)
The file exports from Swish Max at any frame rate of from 10fps to 30 fps.
No modifications to the GIF file were made other than to import it.
Further report on the exported Flash file from Swish Max

The same file was imported at 0.04s frame rate into Xtreme Pro and the results were no Flash File displayed.
The procedure was the same; New Animation; Import GIF file; Display Flash in Browser

Either way, you can just change the fps in Xara and it'll work. But try importing it so it's 0.05s out of interest.

Perhaps changing the fps in Xara is a solution, but it doesn't identify the problem of why imported GIF files won't work as Flash in Xtreme Pro.
Re: Flash File Doesn't Display
James all my gif animations import and display as flash animation in Xara Xtreme Pro.
I haven't tried converting an avi to a gif to see if that may be the cause of the problem you have experienced. When I am home this evening and have the programs to work with, I will try that to see how it works.

Re: Flash File Doesn't Display
Okay, I imported the GIF file at 0.05 frame per sec and it work.
Now I have another problem
In the Swish Max File display katswish.swf, there is an option in Swish to fill transparent pixels.
In the Xtreme Pro Flash file, katxflash.swf, there is no option to fill transparent pixels, so the resulting frames that have transparent pixels show the background which displays undesirable results.
Is there an equivalent for a transparent pixel fill in Xtreme Pro Flash?
Also, notice how much bigger and slower the xflash.swf in appearance on the screen than the xflash.swf.
