Text Tool - Find Previous
Dear Xara...
The Find and Replace Dialog (Text Tool > Ctrl+F or Selector Tool > Ctrl+Alt+F), does not have a Find previous button. There does not appear to be a Key_TextTool_FindPrevious function.
Why this oversight?
Do you not realise how frustrating this is?
My current remedy is to use Text Tool > Ctrl+G after reposition the text cursor higher up the text.
You do not have the courtesy of advising Ctrl+G invokes the Key_TextTool_FindNext function anywhere.
A highlighted 'All found' might be useful for a serious DTP.
An automatic copy into the Find on opening when there is a text selection would be handy.
The last retained search or even a history might be nice.
the pop-up that becomes a stuck-up "End of search scope reached. Continuing from start." could do with closing when you do just that. Otherwise, how do you know if you have found all instances?

That's sort of the way Affinity Publisher works. The found text appears in a panel below the find/replace input with a snippet of the context, but not on-page.
I don't use find in Xara applications. Does it now go from page to page looking?

Yes, it can as there is a tick box for just that.

Excellent, Acorn. Thanks.
On-page highlighting would be nice and likely easier to implement versus Serif's solution--then Xara wouldn't need to make a panel. It is also far more visual and applies to more than dtp but also web.

FWIW it's listed in customise key shortcuts [standard/classic] as 'find next match'

Yet if to try to add Ctrl+G to another key, it fails to show in the Conflict List; you only see Group.
Another bodge.
