Printing mask for PCB etching
I dont know in which place goes this my question. So I put it in offtopic.
Anybody knows for specialized printer for printing mask for PCB etching for making prototype?
If exist specialized printer to print "Happy birthday" on birthday cake, then maybe exist also this.
Hapy printing to all

Pony/Ponny, a DIY approach: https://www.instructables.com/PCB-Etching-prototyping/.
There are plenty of specialist printers that will produce prototypes for you but they are expensive: duckduckgo.com/?q=pcb+fabrication+services.

Hi not sure but create the design and save as SVG file then you can use software for a etching type printer
I have a 3D printer and I do my designs the out put them in svg and use Tinkercad for creating the 3D code for my printer
Re: Printing mask for PCB etching
Yes, I saw this. On this page, the PCB picture is transfered to PCB via film.
But i believe there is more direct way - via some type of printer to print direct to copper foil on PCB.
Then comes etching of PCB with solution of ferrum chloride in the water for exmple.
But yes, direct transfer picture from computer to PCB, without film.
And yes, I expected very high price of this printer, if exist.

Is this because you're making one PCB or making hundreds?

One, of horse. Prototype. For 1000 in fanbric uses technic named "screen printing". Sorry, google translate from slovenian to english. But from there get name "printed circuit". Because of technic from printing mask for etching to PCB. For just one sample is this too complicated.

No, but most people would print onto acetate and then use a photo sensitive plate to etch their board, or even just draw it using transfers/etch resistant pen. It's been over 30 years since I did one so I would imagine this is simple to do with tons of examples on google about how to do this simply.
I could look this up for you, but you could easily do that for yourself.

use a stencil ;)
I agree with paul - I have used a pen way back, acetate works well;
Re: Printing mask for PCB etching
I used recently marker, or adhezive tape, or letraset symbols. But all this is handwork.
I wish to use some automatic. Automatic transfer from computer file to PCB.

It took me 30 seconds to find this.

Some people are still using valves for their amplifiers, so the good old days are still here!
You have to wonder how much time should be wasted on someone else's problem that they can easily research and resolve themselves.

whoa - I am listening to one as i type rotflmao
you can't really see the valves glow in the picture, EL84's in a modern 'leak' configuration are not like the old KT66s in class A - and the 'smart' phone has removed the 'unwanted' light...
this is the tidy end of my workspace, cintiq just off to right on stand
my daughter bought me the snoopy mugs years ago _ i used to mix paint in them, coffee tastes better
I have gone all sentmental all of a sudden....

I'd love a Quad and its electrostatic speakers. Old school. Class A all the way.

Aha, I see. There is no thing like printer to print mask direct from computer to copper foil on laminated vitroplast.
Very strange. I thing, any plotter armed with waterproof felt-tip pen can make this job. Or not?
Then trick with iron. Ironinig is not my favorite sport, but there is no other option, except manualy writing on laminated vitroplast.

Aha, I see. Cofee with scent of turpentine..... Good old days. Or if you have photo dark room for old chemical films and photos. And then at the upper shelve, a bottle with whisky. But the label says "Develeper", you know. And a little bit right, another bottle with label "Fixer". Inside is Cognac, of horse.
Re: Printing mask for PCB etching
it's course not horse, unless of course, it's white horse, but that of course, is not cognac, it's whisky
sorry, my sense of humour...
watercolors by the way... no turps or white spirit :D
Re: Printing mask for PCB etching
And another by the way.
I recommend Pleterski natural juniper. It is made by monks from the Pleterje Carthusian Monastery In Slovenia. It is an excellent natural disinfectant. For both outdoor and indoor use.
