Help Deleting Path from Text

Hi, I am new to this. I just bought Paint Shop Pro X2 Ultimate and went through a tutorial to create text on a curved path, and now every time I create text it's on the curve. Sometimes even off the canvas. I figured out how to detach from path, but is there some way to just delete the path completely so it always is straight. Please help. Thanks.:confused:

I though I had replied to this but don't see it. If you have not discovered how yet hold the ALT key down as you click to place text to avoid it following a path
