The latest release of Designer Pro+ also lets you select an image and opt for Image File Name.
Yes thanks Gary. Is it that simple then. Would you put the same name for the filename as well as the caption? I believe google only indexes the file name? Client wants google images to show their images under the keyword they assign to the image.
behzad, first off.
Of your images, how many currently have proper descriptive Alt Text?
Alt text is essential for accessibility, tagging less so.
So always present Accessibility over SEO.
I suppose image tagging can be as simple as adding EXIF > Keywords.
There are many digital asset management systems around, look at acdsee.
There are some free products and in the end you need the information to be embedded and transferrable and therefore internationally accepted.
As an aside, for tagging in Windows, File Explorer > Image > Properties > Details > Description > Tags is good practice.
Fill you boots but cautiously as this only organises things on your system.
Best practice is to create a dummy image and stuff it will all your expected Tags.
Keep it handy and copy and paste into a new image to avoid typos and synonyms.
On Macs, you have IPTC keywords, I think as a given.

Gary, an Image Filename is not the same as image tagging, though it all helps.

I have just found Exif Pilot. A free utility that handles EXIF & IPTC keywords editing.
Download: https://www.two-pilots.com/colorpilo...ad/exif_64.exe.
Home: https://www.colorpilot.com/exif.html.
I added a Keyword in it and it appeared also as a Tag in Windows Properties.

Great guidance Acorn. Thank you all.
Acorn, I checked and you were right, EXIF information is retained after optimization.
