Re: group transparency issue
I don't see this with pro+ - which version are you using ?
Re: group transparency issue
tried Designer Pro+ and Pro x
actually i have similar problem with all version since first X version, but earlier i catch crashes a little less often
Re: group transparency issue
This does not happen for me.
Try close the program. Then right click on the program icon and select Run as Administrator. This will work or it will not work. Just try it one time.
Re: group transparency issue
I use this method to add two different transparencies/fills to a shape.
Never had any particular issue or crash.

I know the answer to this, but how do you add two different transparencies to a shape?
Re: group transparency issue
Re: group transparency issue
OK. If you group an object that has a transparency applied to it, you can then apply a second transparency.
This also applies to contours, and blends. Once these are grouped, they are treated as a single object to which transparency can be applied.
Re: group transparency issue
you can only group an object with itself once, but....
you can group it again with a no-fill no-outline object and so repeat....
Re: group transparency issue
thanks for advise guys, tryed work as admin(with same result) , but i finded way how to get around this bug, so, let's continue our group exercises

Re: group transparency issue
@huorn, well described. At least we have the problem nailed.
For any shape, add a Bitmap transparency.
Group and apply a second transparency.
Bug - the XDA has a fatal crash.
A workaround involves grouping with a second random shape inside the first, applying the second transparency and then deleting the added shape.
With this approach, an unspecified number of transparencies can be applied.
Each Ungroup, removes the last applied transparency.
Thread moved to the Dear Xara forum.

Re: group transparency issue
can I add that this does not crash if you do not have group transparency enabled in the registry [attributes] but of course that gives you a different result
I see acorn has found the work around before me :D
the UI used to have a tick box than enabled you to toggle group transparency on the general tab of untilities > options menu, but this has gone in pro+
[make groups be transparent as a whole]
