And Xara's reply is that it is nothing to do with Xara as Magix runs marketing.
What I consider the worse is the same numeric charge be it in Euros, Dollars or Sterling.

What is confusing about a sale on software? I always advise users on the Magix forum to wait and watch for special prices; don't pay the full price. Magix usually has special pricing on software once or twice a year.
The upgrade price is interesting, but I'm still not going to renew my expired update service. The latest patch (today) for Video Pro X has not fixed the problem of the contents of XAR objects (animations) disappearing after a reboot, in fact, it's worse. Not happy.
@Acorn,
I checked the price for several currencies for XDPX on the Magix site:
Canada: New C189$; Upgrade C119$
US: New 159UDS; Upgrade 99USD
UK: New £109; Upgrade £69
Germany: New € 159; Upgrade € 99
Exchange rates today: 1 € = 1.10 USD, so they are close.
1 £ = 1.24 USD, but my British pounds are no longer any good, worthless. I tried to buy deodorant at Heathrow last year, pulled out my 1£ coins obtained from a prior trip, and was told that they were worthless.
John, thank you for the price collation. I should have been more specific as I had checked Upgrade pricing about a month ago and they were all the same rate, regardless of the major currency; the UK price seems to have improved but Magix is equating Euros to dollars, which is still off.
Regarding your British coinage, I'll accept them at 50% face value.
Seriously, in UK, https://www.leftovercurrency.com/exc...ritish-pounds/, is offering an exchange of $1.1341 today.

I'm guessing you have the old pound coins (they are round) - we have new ones (with flat edges). You can't spend them, but they can be exchanged in a bank, so they aren't worthless - they are worth one pound. Hope you didn't throw them away.
I still have Deutsche Mark coins..
you would need to bag them so you would only be able to cash multiples of £20 and you cannot mix with the new
maybe but they are not obliged to ;)
If someone is willing to pay for the plane ticket (Montreal-London return), I'll bring you all 9 x 1£ coins that I have, plus a fiver which I heard was also being discontinued.
Magix does sometimes have what could be considered as confusing offers. With products like Movie Edit Pro, Magix sometimes offers the Premium version for a lower price than the Plus version, and at the same price as the basic version. Obviously, this should be a no-brainer, but, believe it or not, there have been users who took the Plus version, paid more for the same thing, because they didn't want their computer filled with third party add-ons/plugins. One user said so on the forum. I pointed out that there was no obligation to actually install the third party add-ons, but the person insisted. One person actually took the basic version at the same price because he felt that didn't need the extra features of the Plus/Premium versions. Go figure.
:-O
