Trial Version Not Publishing
I've been using WD Pro 12.62. I just downloaded a trial version of 16.1.0. When I tell v16 to publish, it looks like it's publishing, but the published file never appears at the destination. Is that a feature of using a trial version, or is something else going on???
Re: Trial Version Not Publishing
Not 100% sure what's going on but one thing worth a try Harry, close Xara. Right click over the launch icon and select 'Run as Administrator'. Try publishing again.
Re: Trial Version Not Publishing
Are you publishing to the same folder as you looking at? If you are not using Xara or Magix hosting there is an optional sub folder section.

harryd - I assume you are publishing to a web hosting site?
If so, most hosting sites want you to publish your files to a sub-director such as public_html.
Check with your web hosing company and see if this is the case and if yes, what sub folder to publish to.

I tried setting "run as administrator" but that didn't change anything. I am publishing to the public_html section of my website, the same as I have been doing, and continue to do using WD 12. I'm not doing anything different. WD 16 appears to be publishing, the same as WD 12, but the published files just don't get there.

Harry, try refreshing your Browser Cache (Ctrl+5F)
Re: Trial Version Not Publishing
I found the files: In my public_html section, there is another sub directory also called public_html, and that's where the WD 16 files are going. So, now I just have to figure out what I'm doing to tell WD 16 to put the files there???

Here is a picture from the WD 16 explore web space function (I hope I've done this right?)
Re: Trial Version Not Publishing
That picture is actually showing the public_html subdirectory of the public_html segment of my website.

You appear to have two url's.
One to the directory:
http://iyfnzgb.com/Dividenddective.com
and another to the directory (sub directory?)
http://iyfnzgb.com/Dividenddective.com/public_html/
Re: Trial Version Not Publishing
my only url is https://dividenddetective.com
Until I started using WD 16, everything was in public_html, and there was no subdirectory named public_html. When I use WD 12, everything still goes there correctly.
I don't know anything about http://lyfnzb.com/. Where are you seeing that?
Re: Trial Version Not Publishing
UPDATE: I deleted the sub-directory public_html. Then I used WD 16 to publish a test page and it put the public_html back and then published to that sub-directory.
WD 12 still publishes where it's told.
Re: Trial Version Not Publishing
But everything is OK now?
Re: Trial Version Not Publishing
No- not okay - WD 16 is still publishing to the public_html/public_html sub directory that it creates if not already there.
I'm telling it to publish to public_html. NOT TO public_html/public_html.
Re: Trial Version Not Publishing
Hmm. What happens if you leave out the public_html entry on the sub-folder? It sounds like it is going to that folder automatically.
Worst comes to worst, you can always publish to a folder on your desktop, then use Filezilla or any FTP program to upload your files to your web host.
Re: Trial Version Not Publishing
Another UPDATE: it appears that MY VERSION of WD 16 assumes "DividendDetective.com/public_html" when I set "DividendDetective.com" as my FTP address. So, in WD 16, I don't add the "/public_html" part. That's different than WD 12 where I do have to add "/public_html" to the FTP publish address.

Harry, I believe this is how your publish settings should look:

Currently, it's working correctly (publishing to DD/public_html) without specifying "public_html" for sub folder.
