THESE 'POINT OF SALE' FLYERS HELPED LAND A BIG ACCOUNT!
These simple POS flyers were a rush job to have in time for a presentation...
These, along with the client's website, created with XARA helped to land a huge account for my client...
The major food distributor, SYSCO, (billions a years in sales) has ordered 6 products from my client
for national distribution...
They actually loved the materials... and insisted we do not take down the link, as they will be sending
to other parties...
I just love how 'quick' one can create material either for print or online docs with Xara... greatest time-saving
program ever created!

That's incredible. SYSCO (not CISCO) is a huge food distributor.
Did they insist on meeting the chef in the flyers? ;)
Great design, BTW

When clicking your link cliff I get:

Cliff,
Just Curious, did you take the photos or did they have a studio do the photos?

This is just between you and me RK... don't tell anyone else... :-/
The pictures they (the client) sent were for the most part garbage... I cleaned up as best I can on some... you can probably tell which ones... they're usually the 'smaller' ones... you know to hide the bad resolution as best I could.
The larger ones someone took with a smartphone and the resolution wasn't too bad... so I used them... all and all the viewers can't really see any flaws in that they had a specific purpose viewing them rather than critiquing photo quality...
The brownies, keylime and I think the mudpie... I plagiarized online... they looked almost exactly like their product... and I inset the ice cream balls on top of the brownies.... LOL ...
and it's just in house for private presentation purposes only... (not public) so I wasn't worried about copyright infringement...

hmmmm.... thanks handrawn! Gotta watch my big mouth... Even though my intentions in posting any of this stuff is always to help motivate other 'amature' graphics people like myself and what can be accomplished with an app like XARA with a little work and patience... yet... you make a strong point... thanks again!
Re: THESE 'POINT OF SALE' FLYERS HELPED LAND A BIG ACCOUNT!
rarely if ever do I put specifics of what I do on the forum - what you put on the web you put in the public domain - even if you delete it, it may still be on a web archive some where... caveat promulgo ;)

Hi Cliff,
Excellent work !
Looks good on my iPhone and Chrome, but a small glitch on IE.

It doesn't like more than 1 brownie...;))
Re: THESE 'POINT OF SALE' FLYERS HELPED LAND A BIG ACCOUNT!
I think I've said this before on some of your other work. I'm envious of your ability to gel everything together. I can plainly see what and how you do these, but when I try to do similar work it looks...off.
You have a knack/talent/skill/insert-correct-phrase-here of putting all the right elements in all the right places with all the right effects. When I grow up I don't want to be a fireman, I want to be a cmpan1.
Love your work Cliff, seriously. :star
Re: THESE 'POINT OF SALE' FLYERS HELPED LAND A BIG ACCOUNT!
Thanks all for the kind words... but I really want to drive a point home. I'm not a schooled or trained graphics person... Anything I can accomplish is always through trial and error... mostly error....
To the pros, what I do is simple and obvious... nothing special... my main focus is always trying to 'space' things out. (I guess the ol' white space rule thing applies)
And the reason I said these things is truely for new and inexperienced users of Xara... I believe you won't / can not find a program that allows for such enormous flexibility.
Sometimes a non-computer non-coder non-professional artist or designer can get a bit put off when reading what some of the 'very' experienced users are doing... and have done...
I'm just saying... with XARA, you can at least 'appear' (to the outside world) that you know what you're doing and look good... as I always say, go slow, practice and learn one or two features
at a time... just what you need... and it will start to come together...
again... thanks to all....
and BTW, I can't count how many times the main players on this forum have bailed me out of a mess... (you/we know who you are) This forum is the absolute best place to hang out and learn from!
