I want to fill the WEB page screen with a Patter
Xara Designer Pro X: I did this one time a long time ago and filled the screen with a pattern, but can't seem to do it now. And I can't seem to figure this out even though I've looked in the manual. Everything appears to be directed to fills of objects. I can't seem to import into the page and utilize the Bitmap Gallery or Fill Gallery. I must be doing something wrong. Any assistance appreciated. Thanks. Well after playing a bit I got it to fill page and pasteboard, but there is white space around the file and I want it to fill the screen period.

In the Fill gallery, select a fill, or an existing image already on your page and right-click and pick Set as pasteboard background.

Unless you plan to use an endless screen of words I think you want to fill the screen with a "pattern". Eh? ;)

Re: I want to fill the WEB page screen with a Patter
That is true Gary, but I've not successfully gotten the graphic file into the Fill Gallery.

Re: I want to fill the WEB page screen with a Patter
It does not have to be in the Fill Gallery.
Import or drag and drop the graphic into Xara. Then it will appear in the Bitmap Gallery. Select the image there and click Background.

GGG, when you have added your image to the Pasteboard, you right-click on the Pasteboard and pick Pasteboard background > Fill browser window.
Including an image as as Fill is a different task.
Put all you new images that are to be Fills in a folder.
Open the Fill gallery and click the Disc fills button and navigate to the folder, not the image and click Add.
Follow the ensuing instructions.

But that's the Bitmap gallery and not the Fill gallery.
A Bitmap addition is for the document; a Fill is for life.

OK, so how do I add a graphic I've made to the Fill Gallery?

Whooo, I'm as confused as Gilbert now.

Re: I want to fill the WEB page screen with a Patter
I did Acorn, thanks for the reminder. I may be having a bit of a problem with the graphic as, for whatever reason, there is a white space around it when page is filled. Will work on it tomorrow and get back here with hopefully a positive result. :D

Re: I want to fill the WEB page screen with a Patter
I presume I'm doing something wrong, but can't figure it out. When I do page fill from the Fill Gallery each paste has a white border all way around and does not butt against one another.

Is it a bitmap you're filling the background with GG? If so can you attach it here?

GGG, you have a 240px square image with 13px of white on the left and 4px of white on the bottom.
Crop these away and make a bitmap copy and use that.
If you have to maintain 240px square, i would stretch it back up.

I don't know why I can't see it on my machine, but I'll get it fixed someway. Thanks for that.

Drop the image onto a coloured page background; it is quite distinct.
If you want a hand, you will need to zip and attach the file rather than adding it as an image as TG reduces resolution.

Re: I want to fill the WEB page screen with a Patter
Well I've redrawn the square behind the type several times. The window shows no white pixels on the left or bottom, but it doesn't seem to matter how I do the color. When I do the page fill from from the gallery I still get white pixels on the left and bottom. Haven't, at this point, figured out what is going on..grrrr!

Otay..I think I figgered somethin' out, whether it's the right way or not. After bringing the art piece into the page area from the Fill Gallery I played with it a bit more..then I made a bitmap copy and I set that as the page background..IT WORKED! Yay, no white border areas nor anything. That will work for me though I suspect there's a proper, shorter way of doing the page fill than I've encountered. :D

Egg, dynOmite! Thank you for the Tut and your time doing this for me. I will go over this several times. And I should not have the same issue in the future..:D
