It's cool but unfortunately it's probably just photoshopped. The image is featured on numerous pinterest pages without ever clearly identifying the location. Some say India and others say China. There's a version with the top as a Buddha sculpture.
There was another 'elephant rock' image that was widely disseminated. It was shown by Snopes to be a fake. See article here.
ML are the initials of it's creator ;)
https://tineye.com/search/5401f7faa0...=firefox-1.3.2 Take your pick. Maybe among this TinEye search you will find an explanation.
Maybe we should have a challenge to create something like that - the Xara-Fakes Challenge. If we're any good perhaps one of the images (or all the images) we create will go viral. If Russian sweatshops successfully made fake news then a bunch of creative Xara enthusiasts like us should be able to pump out successful fake landmarks.
isn't the internet a wonderful place - someone creates an image like that and the next thing you know its all over the place as a 'fake' - was that it's creators intention? - since they apparently [put] work in a ' creative content production company, providing CGI, Motion, Animation, Illlustration, Photography, Photo-Imaging & Video services' possibly not, but who knows
don't think xara would be my weapon of choice for that ;)
pin that down to cgi:

Handrawn - Even before seeing the creator's portfolio (thanks for that) I found myself accepting that it was unlikely it deserves to be considered 'fake' with all the derogatory connotations of that word. I'm sorry I put that spin on it in my earlier posting. Seeing the portfolio highlights the artist's creativity which strikes me as being very similar to what many of us here aspire to.
Strikes me that most on the forum these days are building websites...
I think this is a great idea. it would be interesting to see what methods everyone could come up with to try and recreate something similar.
And I sure Xara wouldn't be the first tool of choice for many of us but it would be interesting to see just what could be done with Xara :)
Mini Ayers Rock appears in the Lake District :D

Breaking News from Copenhagen
The Little Mermaid statue in Copenhagen, the city's most famous monument, has been stolen. Police spokesperson Jens Moller Jensen said it was there yesterday and to be assured investigators will not stop looking for the missing statue. "Returning it to its rightful place is our highest priority" said Jens Moller Jensen with tears streaming down his face. He also noted Interpol has been notified and they will be sending a team of 22 investigators to assist the Copenhagen Police. Eight-year old Pipi Ericson, visiting from Iceland, reported the statue missing. In an interview with the DR-1 news team, Pipi said "My family brought me to Copenhagen just to see the Little Mermaid. I love her. We left our hotel room at 5:30am to see her at sunrise. We got there but she was gone. I cried and called the Police".
The Little Mermaid, inspired by a character in Danish poet and author Hans Christian Andersen's 1837 fairytale of the same name, is a 175-kilogram (385-pound) statue by Edvard Eriksen. She was commissioned in 1909 by Carl Jacobsen, the son of the founder of the famous Carlsberg brewery, and has been one of Denmark's main tourist attractions since 1913. The statue has been vandalised numerous times over the years, including when the mermaid's head was stolen in 1964 and 1998, as well as when an arm was cut off in 1984. The statue had been repaired after the recoveries of her stolen body parts.
Mermaid sat on Ayes Rock in the Lake District, a likely story :-O Love the addition Ross, it would certainly draw more tourists to the Lake District :D

A friend posted this photo on Facebook. I added the baseball stitches.
I used Brightness transparency (now missing in the transparency menu but available with a registry tweak). Seems appropriate for a moon over the SF Bay Area.
