Gary Bouton's Xara Gallery 2: smaller and newer
I've got 54 pages of my work and comments ☞ here ☜ and I feel a Family-Size gallery is a little pretentious as well as hard to get through.
Then again, The Metropolitan Museum, which seems to have all the space in the world for great artwork, is not a member of TalkGraphics, not that I'm aware of. Attachment 120468
So I'll try to hang stuff I'm pleased with and hopefully other members will dig, and promise to keep the hammering noise down when I put a framed piece this wall.
First, I decided to mock role-playing games (RPG). Here's a card I'd expect an unlucky gamer might receive.
I used several programs to create the media, but mostly, it's Xara Designer.

This took about 15 minutes to create. My personal challenge was to make something that's not overly embellished.
IOW, to know when something is done.

I used Funky Fresh, dist. by Linotype, and Lithos.

I do not play games much and never played an RPG, however I really like the card. Thanks Gare.

I don't even own a role-playing game!
That's why I chose to make fun of them.

If Vader had bought the After Midnight Derek and the Dominoes album, he'd still be alive.

I like this sort of art as Gare posted in #3 so I have tried to re-produce it. The two idols are supposed to be made of, one of green stone with some noise added and one of wood. The wooden one, I created a bitmap copy and changed the colour in Photo tools> hue strength, colour, colour temp. I keep meaning to create the origami bird using shapes so having done this tikki image will give it a go. Such simple shapes give a pleasing effect :D

Excellent result, you made the most of a view, turning it into a leaning experience. Hey, PM me, because the address I have keeps bouncing back.
My Best,
Gary

Hey, stygg—
I think I've drawn everything in our house at one time or another, each with varying degrees of success.
I'm attaching this:

It's never going to hang in a museaum, but it might give you a few ideas on how to draw such a thing, and naturally you can personalize it and improve upon it.
One thought I had but dodn't do: it's basically a monochrome bird. No reason then, not to make a named color (a tagged color) be the base, and then you can have different colors in only a step or two.
My Best,
Gary

Fool disclosure: I drew over an existing piece of art. It just seemed like a happy, minimalist chicken, who I believe lays cubic eggs.

Here is Zoxel and it's free...and it's the easiest way I've ever enjoyed to build 3D voxel (volume element) picture. It's simply a matter of clicking to add a cube, choose a color from a palette, use the mouse wheel to rotate your view to see all aspects of your work. Erase by right button dragging, and I think I've just written the owner's guide.

Have a great time making really deep pixels,

Looks fun but did you give your chicken innards?
