Having trouble with anchors and linking them
I am creating a one page supersite and I'm using link to anchor. I create a square and then give it a name. I then add the name to the anchor list. From there I go to the nav bar and link to that name in the anchor list. I then save the changes and preview it in google browser. When I click on that link nothing happens I hover over the link and the anchor tag #aboutus is not visible. I then upload these changes and try it on the web and then hovered my mouse over the link and the anchor was visiable. so I clicked on the link "aboutus" but still nothing happens. What am I doing wrong? I follow the steps correctly but still no luck. Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong.
Thanks so much,

Tony, hovering over an anchor will reveal nothing.
If you click the link, does the the address bar show the anchor full path?
If the anchor is visible on the page n the browser, the page may not jump to it as it is already there.
Change the browser height to something very short, click the link and if the anchor was not visible the page should jump to it.

Re: Having trouble with anchors and linking them
I tried what you recommended but still couldn't get it to work. http://adisolutions.net/ADI-Sites/adisupersite/
I even lowered the background photo for the aboutus page. The anchor is off to the left the second background photo

Re: Having trouble with anchors and linking them
Create individual buttons and link those buttons to your anchor.
You can make your buttons look like a nav bar and if you want you can build sub menus using layers. So the button links to the layer and the buttons on the layer link to the anchors.

Re: Having trouble with anchors and linking them
Thank you for that. I'll try it

Re: Having trouble with anchors and linking them
Why not just use a navbar Gary. What's the advantage of individual buttons?

Re: Having trouble with anchors and linking them
yes, and thank you very much. that did the trick. I'm working with some basic animations for my site. Does it have to be a supersite in order to make the animations work or can I also create animations in a conventional site as well?

Glad, you're sorted and are now looking at animations..., which I assume are page transitions for a Conventional website.

Re: Having trouble with anchors and linking them
Hi Acorn,
Actually I'm Trying to create these animations in supersite mode. Is this wrong? I can't get any of to work. These types of animations are shown in this video. http://www.xara.com/us/web-designer/.../#video_player
Thank You,

Re: Having trouble with anchors and linking them
You probably have checked this already but just to be sure: You opened Utilities/Web Properties; clicked the "Web Export Options" button at the bottom; ticked the "Supersite" and "Page Transitions" radio buttons and selected the desired transition effects from the drop-down menu; clicked "OK"; and clicked "Apply" on the Web Properties dialog.

Re: Having trouble with anchors and linking them
I'm still having trouble Linking to the anchors. I started over Used the letters ABCDE etc. The only letter that I could link is the first letter A I linked B next but could not get it go to that page. In the program not the preview window but the work place I can select B and the caption appears and click on the letter B and it go to that section. What am I doing wrong.
Thank you very much for your help

Tony, an Anchor is a Name of an object on a page in your design.
A link from another object anywhere can be set to an Anchor in a drop-down list for the Link to anchor field.
Once picked, you must click Accept or OK.
There are no tricks or hoops,

Hey,
Here is my website I'm trying to build. I have two nav options. The top nav option are individual buttons and the second one below is a nav bar which I would refer to use.
Thanks for your help

Re: Having trouble with anchors and linking them
Your main problem is that you are giving objects multiple names. To act as an anchor the anchor can only have a single name. In the screengrab attached your letter "D" has multiple names A, B, C & D as do your other anchors. How then do you expect the code to know which one you're referring to?
The anchors also need to be at least partly on the page, not just the pasteboard.
