Late on parade there Larry :)
Ugly but only used your shapes:
To someone with your background Egg ... Is that a BOAT or a SHIP?
It's a ship Keith, but it's a boat for this challenge :)
I think that is great Egg
I have often heard of a ship referred to as boat so I looked up the definitions. The word could have been ship but I thought boat was more open ended,
@Keith. You have a valid point but because it seems to be open to interpretation I will accept Eggs solution.

There is no definitive definition between a ship & a boat. It's normally just a matter of size. It is often said that if it can be carried on a ship it's a boat (lifeboats for example) but I attach a photo of a new HMAS Adelaide being carried on the Dockwise Blue Marlin. I don't think you could call the HMAS Adelaide a boat under any definition ;)
The Adelaide is 230 metres (755 ft) long, weigh 27,000 tonnes and can carry 1,100 personnel, 100 armoured vehicles and 12 helicopters.
Here's a tug, definitely a boat ;)
Thanks Egg, that is definitely a boat.
A bit shippy, but the ideas there :D

Looks good Jonopen. I agree it does look a bit "shippy" for a gravy boat but all things considered I likr it.
Here's RMS ORIGAMI.
This is definitely a boat, and a paper one at that.
I will need to take it out of the water soon, though. Don't want it turning soggy!
Great idea Rik, I really
Like that.
Thank you, Larry.....
Very nice. Thank you Penny!
Very simple & clean. I like that a lot Penny.
Thank you, Egg!
Some cool ideas and I have to admit I always thought a boat was a boat if under a certain weight so educational thread too :)
Here is my boat :)

Excellent!
Awesome mhjgkane.
From Dictionary dot com: A vessel of any size built for navigation on a river or other inland body of water. So if you consider the Great Lakes a boat could be huge.
EDIT: I think boat is slang for a water going vessel of any size or weight.
