I went to the Xara.com website, logged in, and looked for the Version 12 download and it wasn't there. They had 365, version 10 and 11, but no 12.
Where is it?

365 will be the one you want - that will give you the latest version, currently 12
yeah, 365 is version 12.
However, if you go to C:/Program Files > Xara you will see a Designer Pro X folder (for 64-bit). You have to open this folder to find Designer Pro X-12. Presumably there will be a 13, 14 etc.
Got it. Thanks everyone.
I've been using Xara since the mid 90s and I cannot tell you how many times I have had to recreate my custom button bar. If Xara were going to fix this they would have done so by now. :)Quote:
And with each version we probably have to recustomize our UI setup .... :'(
I had hoped that, with the '365 scheme,' version upgrades would be no longer necessary. But, yeah, I know, pretty naive... :)
To be honest, I have no idea how they intend to go forward. Magix is responsible for most of the marketing decisions.
Hi, when I look at Magix's innovation statements(see following link http://www.magix.com/ca/company/innovations/ ) they state that "Many of our developers are passionate musicians, film makers and photographers who are developing the products they themselves would like to use to edit their own digital content". Perhaps this explains why some things get changed and others dont. Xara products do not seen to be on top of their hit parade list.

perhaps bob - but.... xara nearly went to the wall financially. and not for the first time remember when they made that deal with corel?
the sad fact is there is not enough interest in the xara way of doing vectors to make a commercially viable stand alone product - or they would be doing it ... right?
I would love to see them do away with or give an option to the 365 thing. I do not like knowing the internet must be working for full functionality and some things I may have added to a site are no longer available due to an upgrade I don't have. I found the fact someone didn't flick a switch before leaving the Xara office caused all of us to get error messages one weekend scary. That is too much vulnerability for my taste. The addition of web development and photo tools were IMO a good move for them. But totally leaving vector development was short sighted.
