Email Forms

After much frustration i have finally published website . Prior to publishing and testing email form( jot form ) it worked great . Now that the site is published the emails dont come through . Does any one know how to insert your own form and script ? Would really not like to go through a third party for emails.

Has any one tried the form by xara : http://xaratemplates.com/own-contact-form-using-php/.

Can any one give dummies instructions please on once downloaded on how to open and insert . Thanks

Nb also with jot form , does anyone know if you embed full source code if this enables emails to come to your direct rather than being hosted on jot forms server and if the amount of submissions still apply. Hoping this may also solve the problem of emails not coming through.

Thanks Pete , can you send me the link...thanks for your help ....I did like the jot form ones but have been struggling to keep them working on website so this form is my next best alternative ��

I've had a look at the php form that you supplied the link for and its offering 3 variant web pages from which you can extract the code from. I think its a little overcomplicated for what you need and is more likely to confuse you even more. If its acceptible to you, I'm happy to create a form for you and put it into a WD webpage along with the necessary instructions for you to use it on your website.

I will go ahead with my suggestion but if you want instructions on how to get the php version then please let me know.

Thanks Pete , would be more than happy to look at your form I've been reading and reading on how to put in my own form so emails come through direct rather than a third party. Will it work on the mobile page ? Looking forward to seeing your form...do you create yourself ? Thanks for your help

Hi Bindi I had a few problems when switching to Jotform. I found that the code they supplied didn't work in the placeholder I wanted it in when I placed it in the body text section of the placeholder but did if it was put in the head and body of the placeholder(??). Setting up the response email is pretty straightforward and not a problem as jotform host each form on their servers which gives you access to lots of analytical info and storage of forms and responses. Keep an eye on passing the set maximum submissions (and views) allowed especially in the free version

I've done an adaptation of the php form that you provided the link for. I haven't added the telephone number field and for sure, the format/size may not be what you need. I can post the .xar file here if you want to try it yourself (you'll just need to change the email address to your own).

You can send a test message to me and I will then change the email address.

There is no validation on this form.

Bindi, the forms are more than just what you see on the web page. There's also code sitting on the remote server to process the content of your form so it can be put into an email. It can never go from page to email directly.

Thank you all for helping here . I found simpatic forms http://www.simfatic.com/ solved my issue and worked a treat .no third part hosing and easy to install ( if I can do it anyone else can ) well worth the investment :o

Did you install using windows 10 as it says that it does not support it?

Hi Miko , I used Windows 8.1, maybe you can download the trial version and see if works on 10 ? Hoping it does for when I eventually upgrade to 10. This program was so easy to use..it definatley solved my form problem

Hello All, this is very interesting to me as a person (non tech) who has also had major problems even trying to set up a form because the process looked too complicated. Jot Form has been suggested to me as well, but I have not ventured to try getting a Jot Form onto my contact page. However, I was made to pay attention by another Wed Designer users post. He mentioned the power of using Place Holder. I am using and trying to become familiar with Web Designer 10 Premium which I purchased more than a year ago, but never used. The interesting about Place Holder is that it permits HTML code to be imported onto a WD 10 page (I think). I purchased Coffee Cup Form Builder in 2015. I was able to construct very nice looking forms but was never able to use the final product because of major complications. I am now looking at using WD 10's Place Holder to see if I can import the Coffee Cup Form Builder HTML code to wee if it works and shows up on my contact page. If I can't get this form to work, I'll have to try the Jot Form. I will be back here with what my attempts with Coffee Cup's Form produce. Thanks for listening and any suggestions. Thanks much. :D

I am going to take a look at "Simfatic Form Solutions" because it looks like a non-complicated process. However, I paid the same amount ($69) for Coffee Cup Forms Software actually back in 2014. After many days of struggle trying to figure out how to get it set up on my Xara WD 10 Premium contact page I gave up. I keep wanting to return to Coffee Cup because I can do so much with color, styling, etc. I thought when Coffee Cup said it is drag & drop, I thought they were talking about dragging and dropping the form on my contact web page. But, I found it's not that simple. It just may be that I am making the process more complicated than it really is. When I purchased Coffee Cup Web Form Software I wanted a program that had a one time payment with no monthly fees. Coffee Cup Forms meet that need. I am amazed that no one else has purchased and use Coffee Cup here. Why can't they make the programs more simple??

Well, I've got CoffeeCup's Super Pack (@$300), so perhaps it is too expensive for tinkering with? The CoffeeCup Form Builder itself is $69.

If you have managed to publish a form with this then you should use the Xara Embed a website widget to place the form into your site page.
You can even make it appear as a pop-up form a site page link.

All these solutions require you have an understanding of the concept of server-side scripts running with PHP.
The CoffeeCup solution even allows for your form submissions to be stored into a MySql database.

If your Service Provider does not support server-side scripting then no solution, however attractive, will work for you.

I must admit I have never added by uploading to sever first and just previously published all within the program and this was so easy...( and I'm not real techno with this stuff ) it however did take the stress out adding the form which I spent literally days on...now I'm smiling��

I use simfatic forms as well but would love to find something better.
Be careful when using simfatic forms because the only true way to get it working on xara is in an iframe. Any other way, like the different ways simfatic forms has, end up breaking some of the other things on the page, like widgets that use javascript ( like a slideshow). If your not using an iframe with this form software, double check everything works.

I had to use iframe since anyother way i put it in xara it ends up making my slideshows and other widgets not working.

just double check to make sure everything is working properly, or use simfatic forms in an iframe.
