Thanks, Larry. I like the nice shiny one (S-4).
Here's mine - S is for Shabby.
Bob.
Well you did say drop cap! :D
Stygg
Thank you Bob and Stygg, they look great. Mine look so lack luster in comparison to what you guys are doing.
@Bob. I think you should also post the scribble S here as well.
Ok, Larry, yer tiz.
Bob.
Here is one I made using just a custom made halftone brush.
I drew the "S" using the Freehand and Brush Tool and modified it into something resembling an "S" using the Shape Tool.
(it looks a lot better at full size)
Bob.
Thanks Bob. Glad you posted the scribble here. Your half tone looks great too, yes it does look better at a large size, and, that IMHO is a problem only because when reduced to a usable size much is no longer visable. I know they can be used very large but I tend to think of their use as being small. Mine suffer from the same problem.
Here's another one made from this months scribble Larry. Just squashed and rotated, thick line width, change line to shape, apply a bevel.
That looks great Egg. Thanks
mine for the month...
Good job Mikey. Very serpentine. Don't expect Rik to love it though.
This one is easier to see at a small size. Trendy line art design made easy using the mirrorme plugin from Astute Graphics for Illustrator. I only had to draw an eighth of this design.
Bob.
Well done Bob. This turned out to be popular thread I'll hate to see it come to an end.
I'll miss it too, Larry. You'll have to put your thinking-cap on, there's only 8 months to go.
I was watching a Super Rugby match this morning and I fancied trying to draw the Super Rugby logo.
It's a Rugby Union Championship between 15 club teams from three southern hemisphere countries, New Zealand, Australia and South Africa.
After drawing it, it dawned on me that the Drop Cap Challenge is still on "S" this month, so I thought I'd post it here.
Bob.
Looks very good Bob.
That's great Bob, I like it a lot.
I just ran across this. It claims to be a free font but it really is a series of bit-mapped images. Anyway although I didn't do anything to it I thought this might appeal to some so here it is.
This isn't very original but should be familiar.
Looks good Egg! Thanks for not confusing me this time. :D
Larry, I like that very much. Here is a quick effort inspired by your example. The roses are from our garden last year - none out yet.
That's beautiful Penny, thank you very much.
I've been answering a members question HERE and thought I'd try the same technique to this months letter:
S is for sweet, Egg!
Bob.
Excellent Egg,
Just made it (literally). All PGD except for imported paper texture for background.

Really like that Jono.
That's a beauty Jono.
Thanks Egg, Larry. It didn't quite turn out as I planned, but then again, I didn't spend the time a monk would have done! I'll try and brew up something for “T” :D
smh...gosh you guys are good :)
Some thing horrible under the stairs. I knew I would find a use for that brush of yours Larry :D
Stygg
I like it Stygg. I sure do not remember the brush you might have used, which one was it?
Hi All
Here's my take on the letter 'S'.

Really like that :)
