Photographing designer 9 toolbar
Hello all, something happened recently and the toolbar has come unattached from the side. Larry(Wizard from this website Who connects to my computer To assist me to do my disability) and I have been Trying to find where to get it attached again. We Have both looked in a lot of the menus and still can't find it.
Any assistance appreciated that.
Also everytime I read launch the program None of the previous saved items are coming across a taskbar at the top like previous.
Any assistance with both of these will be appreciated regards Mark
Re: Photographing designer 9 toolbar
Sorry I inadvertently put this in the wrong forum thread. Sorry about that
Re: Photographing designer 9 toolbar
Grab the top of the bar and drag it back to the side. You can detach any of the tool bars and move them where you want them.
You will only see previous items if they were open when you closed the program.

Re: Photographing designer 9 toolbar
Does anyone know if it's possible to lock the toolbar so that cannot happen. I have noticed that sometimes when the toolbar has been moved that the icons are smaller, so how can they be made larger again?
Re: Photographing designer 9 toolbar
larry - the button size used to be set in window menu control bars - but i don't think it works anymore in the new dark UI [all greyed out when i try it anyhow and the option if it works is very limited]
I know of no way to lock the bars - used to be able to save the layout using xareg [I seem to recall] - but that does not appear to be in the current version, unless i missed it [or am using the wrong version]...
Re: Photographing designer 9 toolbar
Hello all thank you for the replies we have both tried it today and it still won't lock to the side for some reason. Is there any way to reset the software? Also every time I open up the program any previous projects are not at the top any more as they were previously.
Thank you all for the other replies sorry put it in the wrong part of the Forum.
Regards Mark
Re: Photographing designer 9 toolbar
Mark - you can still go to the xara window menu / control bars and click on the reset button - that should reset all your bars to default - its just the button size that doesnt work AFAIK [possibly due to touch screen considerations]
Re: Photographing designer 9 toolbar
Thank you handrawn, I think being able to lock the toolbar would be a handy feature since I accidentally manage to move it every so often and have a dickens of a time figuring out how to put it back. As I crcall there is a reset button but for some reason I just couldn't find it this time. Now I know where to look. So thanks again.
EDIT: I just looked again in the windows/bars and the reset to defaults or even reset is not there.
Re: Photographing designer 9 toolbar
Hello all thank you very much with a reply, there is no reset in the location. Any other ideas we have looked everywhere else regards Mark

Re: Photographing designer 9 toolbar
which program are you using? - may be in some it is not there - but it is there in designer pro and graphic designer - see screen shot [fourth button down] - perhaps the web designer programs don't have it..?
Re: Photographing designer 9 toolbar
hankrawn wheels is using XP&GD9 and so am I. The reset option is juat not there. However clicking on the control bars and general gives the tool set which can be dragged down. The problem with wheels tool set seems to be that the icons are now smaller, and they are on the wrong side of the ruler, there seems to be nothing I can do to fix it. I was just purposely moving my tool bar and thought for awhile I was in deep do, do, but, I got it back but now mine is on the wrong side of the rulers too, but at least they are larger like I had before.
Re: Photographing designer 9 toolbar
I have just downloaded and installed XP&GD9, If you click on Windows>Control bars the forth option down resets them to default positions.

Re: Photographing designer 9 toolbar
ok - later version than me - but deltapete can see it in version 9 in the same place as I can in version 8.. so it should be there .... are you absolutely sure you are clicking on 'control bars' and not 'bars' - are you using a modified UI? [edit: as in not the default dark]
Re: Photographing designer 9 toolbar
Yes I am sure. And yes I see the toolbar selection there but that is not the problem we are having. I think wheels is using a modified color scheme on his but I am using the default dark. What gets me is that I can move the tool bar around or even delete it and get it back but it does not dock where it was originally. Now it is on the inside of the ruler and before it was on the outside forming sort of a continuous border with the rest of the UI, now the rulers do that, but the toolbar does not. Wheels problem is slightly different in that the icons are now smaller and no matter what I cannot make them larger again, let alone put it back in it proper place on the left side of the left ruler which is where mine was before I moved it. I must admit that I have tried everything short of deleting wheels toolbar and resetting it from the windows/control bars, so I guess that is next.
Re: Photographing designer 9 toolbar
docking the toolbar should be straightforward - if it's not then resetting all the toolbars may well fix it, [but no guarantee because it may be an operating system issue], but it's what I would do if nothing else works - never seen toolbars dock inside the rulers, maybe this is a version 9 issue is also a possibility
the problem with the smaller icons may be due to the different colour scheme, I gave up on the light scheme partly because it flounced the text layout on my screen in various places in the UI - I don't remember an issue with over-small icons, but I would have had them set small anyway for preference...
sorry I can't be of more help :(
Re: Photographing designer 9 toolbar
I thought I'd let you know that I fixed my toolbar problem by un-checking all the boxes in control bars, checked toolbar to bring it back, moved it until it docked where I wanted it then checked the various toolbars that I wanted, then checked rulers and now every thing is like it was before. Thanks for your help, it certainly pointed me in the right direction.
Re: Photographing designer 9 toolbar
Thanks Larry _ glad you got it sorted :)
