horizontal repeating top header image AND tiled background image
i know i can do this but i cant remember how to do a horizontal repeating top header image AND tiled background image ( like a texture background tile)
i have used the tweakset 7 for the horizontal repeating top header image but it breaks if you add a pasteboard colour or background image
please can somebody help me i'm feeling so damn stupid i have done it before and i just cant remember the trick
the tweakset shows how you can add a colour but i need a repeating tile

Re: horizontal repeating top header image AND tiled background image
Well you can only apply one background image to the body as far as I know. There might be a way if you apply a background tile to html and the header background image to the body but I don't know if that would work. I'm thinking I might have seen an example like this on xarausers at one time but again I could be wrong.
Re: horizontal repeating top header image AND tiled background image
This is straight forward stuff now in Web Designer 9 Premium.
See ► http://xara-users.magix.net/public/f...ed-background/
(Xara's included fills don't always tile seamlessly :rolleyes:)
Download the trial and use it for 30 days..
Re: horizontal repeating top header image AND tiled background image
thanks both for your assistance, this is so easy to do in code, i don't understand why it's not incorporated into xwdx
if i create it in wd9 and then edit it in xdpx i assume i will lose that function?
Re: horizontal repeating top header image AND tiled background image
Yes..
But will be included in the next DP of course.
Re: horizontal repeating top header image AND tiled background image
in the end ive decided on a single long vertical image, certainly not ideal but time is money
Re: horizontal repeating top header image AND tiled background image
Yes, that's the best method in earlier versions without resorting to imported HTML styles.
Re: horizontal repeating top header image AND tiled background image
i'm not sure what you mean by imported html styles?
Re: horizontal repeating top header image AND tiled background image
Hi all,
Sorry to be dense (my default) but how can you have a bordered top graphic and a tiled background/page? I keep trying in XWDP9... I can do one or the other but not both. What have I missed?
Also guys please please forgive, but what is the best way to have the page start lower. I used to mess with the 0-0 points, but there must be a better way.
Thanks.
Ali

For top margin:-
Attachment 95849
<style>
#xr_xr {
margin-top:10px;
}</style>
Change margin-top to suit

@Artyboots: It is possible and quite easy to have both a seamless tiling background and a banner object that tiles seamlessly across the page in WD9P. You will need to create your own banner object and make sure it will tile horizontally. The trick is to place your banner object on the pasteboard background layer and then you can right click it and get an option to set it to fill the browser width.
Here are the steps:
1. Set your repeating tiled background
2. Create your banner object making sure it will tile seamlessy horizontally.
3. Expand page and layer gallery and unlock the pasteboard background layer
4. Drag your banner object from the mouse off layer to the pasteboard background layer.
5. Right click the banner object and select fill browser width
6. Re-lock the pasteboard background layer.
and I have also attached a .web file :)

You're not called Angel for nothing! THanks so much. You know, I hadn't noticed the fill browser width on the right click. I absolutely love this version of Xara Web Designer Premium. There are pleasant surprises around every corner.
Thanks also to Zaphodeist for reminding me about how to pull the page down. I've bought every truly Xara product since CorelXara. You would think I would have learned something by now!
Huge gratitude to my lovely helpers.
