they look like that to me too Rich first thing in the morning before coffee :D - nice vector
This was done with Art Works, Xara and EC 4000. AW made the made the image in a cartoon mode. Xara did a vector trace and EC 4000 chrome fill. The EC application was a multiple selection with transparency applied to give a shape appearance.

Whatever it is an interesting graphic Rich. You mentioned Art Works before, what is that?
Larry,
Art Works is an Akvis standalone/plugin. They run in Xara as a plugin. They have lots of various plugins. I haven't looked in a while, though.
Rich
Akvis just released v7 of AW. It was a free update. They added a couple of new styles. Another AW and Xara combination.

A try with a different image. So, a trace of an image and then chrome filled. A bitmap copy and delete the trace. Overlay on the image and use stained glass transparency.
Rich
I been trying to reduce the image complexity to reduce the number of trace objects.
A couple of results.
Rich
Those are Great Rich. I love that look. It's kind of like stained glass but only kind of.
Larry,
A reduced the complexity image. Posterized, water colored and comic.

These are amazing graphic works. I especially like the vintage cars. Just a tip: It would help if you know the parts of a vintage car so you could maximize your art pieces.
This was the image I used as an EC 4000 environment. I replaced outdoor.tif so this was the default environment. It needs to be an uncompressed TIF for the plugin.
These were just random images to test the idea. Reducing the colors and making the image more simple reduced the traced objects. 30,000 objects was a disaster.
Rich
A truck image and a chrome overlay. Easy to do. It is better to try and reduce the trace ed objects. I made a bitmap copy and deleted the objects.
Rich
Another experiment.
