Re: Circles over each other
Hello csehz
Any new object (or circle) you draw, is placed on top of all the other objects or object.
If the larger circle is in front and the small circle is not visible, select the larger circle and from the Arrange menu, select Put to Back (or press Ctrl + B).
If you want to add an outline, select one or both circles and select a line width from the Width drop down list on the Infobar.
Right click on any color on the screen palette to change the color of the outline.

Re: Circles over each other
Thanks very much Gary, I think as the first Xara tutorial my life to draw selected your July duck :-)
And basically my screen is there different, that in yours all the circle widths can be seen. So can be seen the crossing points and also the line of the actual background circle

If I press Ctrl B or Ctrl F, one of the circle lines always disappears
Re: Circles over each other
Oops I think found in the tutorial itself, there is a cross hatched box on the bottom and clicking on that it applies no color, so can draw circles now like you on the picture

Re: Circles over each other
Finally I have a duck, thanks :-) It has some issues of course, the cloud for example for me became rather a rain one :-)
Also on the wing a little black spots can be seen, there I had the problem that somehow the circle 90x90px dimension was bigger slightly than the three capsulas with 30px height.
Somehow did not realize yet the importance of applying Profiles, that will be needed to check in help what is wrote there or read again the tutorial

Re: Circles over each other
Nice Duck csehz.
But... You've made the same mistake, I did.
I was so interested in how the water and the ripples were done that I didn't notice that the head was behind the body. ;))
Re: Circles over each other
Huhh thanks that is really true :-) Perceived also now that the duck maybe should not have that black outline
Re: Circles over each other
If that is your first tutorial, then you did VERY WELL. =D>
Now that you have finished the tutorial, and I hope you have learned one or two things, go back and do the tutorial from the start again.
Your final drawing will be even better. It is true. :)

Re: Circles over each other
Thanks Gary, well rather immediately jumped last week to your radio tutorial in January :-D Huhh it took a lot of time, also even a good english lesson to me :-)
Anyway the Xara Designer is amazing that from three simple forms extruded such a radio graphic but really :-) Very inspirating and learnt so lot of through it
Re: Circles over each other
Wow, what a difference. The duck was a great first effort. But the radio you did is simply wonderful. Very nice job.
Take care, Mike
Re: Circles over each other
I think the duck is done very well, but I agree with Mike that the radio is quite impressive. Hmmm .... maybe I should start doing some of those tutorials, too :)

Re: Circles over each other
Gary I would like just thank you the regular tutorials, for a while did not have chance to use the Designer Pro and a little bit forgot, but it is the best practice to refresh the memories.
Now tried the September one 2011, however of course it is not like yours one :-) The box became a little bit big, also the small triangles maybe not like should be, the french fries maybe too close. Ah and the logo ratio maybe for me a little bit too high :-)
Re: Circles over each other
I think you did quite well csehz!
Re: Circles over each other
Angelize thanks, maybe one question in what was not sure, basically what is the definition of the "marquee selection"?
I mean Gary wrote very clearly:
HOW TO MARQUEE SELECT: For new users, use the Selector Tool
(the arrow pointer) and drag a selection rectangle around all of
the blends. This is called a marquee selection.
But in my understanding this is equal with "select all the objects" with drawing a rectangle around them?
thanks,
Zsolt

Re: Circles over each other
Uhh the first tutorial of Gary which was able to complete in one day, practically some three hours :-) But that is just my level, the tutorials are crystal clear.
Anyway being hungarian this was mandatory, the Rubik's cube is hungarian invention to the world by Rubik Ernő :-D
