Since not being active here for a period of time, I was interested if anyone else is using the 3D sculpting app 3D Coat? According to what I read, it is a very viable alternative to Z-Brush at a much lesser expense. So I have purchased the program but have not begun using it yet. I was interested if anyone here uses it? thnx.
TwidderBird, nice to see ya kickin around again. I use Zbrush so I can't comment on 3D coat. Once you given it a spin please tell us what you think and feel free to show us anything you create as well.
and a 30 day fully functional trial ... oh no, I really do not have the time to play with this.. :eek: ... but I know I will - thanks [I think :D]
thanks mike. its nice to be back to the first graphics website I ever became a part of, and I feel where I got my start in learning digital art!
@handrawn...I anticipate you will enjoy it. I'm eager to hear from you. when I've worked on modeling I feel more like an engineer than an artist, and that's the goal behind 3D Coat- to bring the artististic feel back into 3D.
it's going to have to wait a week or 2 before I install - i really am busy :D

as much as anything its because we are going to have to relocate - and that means an awful lot [decades worth] of 'weeding out' and quite a lot of enforced catching up and setting in order to be done first :rolleyes::D

Have you tried sculptris? It is free and Zbrush-like...

neodeist- I've found that modeling is very much more like engineering. I have VUE and like that alot more for 3D environments. it feels more artistic. this is why I got the sculpting app 3D Coat. it's designed to feel more artistic. (but I've not got around to trying it yet)Quote:
