Delete my post and images
When it comes to the copyright of my images and written material, I hereby request to have all of it removed from Talkgraphics.com, please.
I do realize that my humble contributions over the last decade are insignificant in the big scope of things but some it will help me feed my family.
So, please, I request to have it removed urgently. (Right now, if a mod is reading this...)
TG used to by members for members... It's no more.
Delete now please – I need to feed my 5-year-old in the morning.
If there is something I posted at TG that you for some crazy reason wanted to know more about - just fire an email my way and I will help you out.
Thank you.

Re: Delete my post and images
Risto, what does talkgraphics have to do with eating?
On the copyright front, I'm not sure you can compel talkgraphics to remove images that you have posted, since you freely posted them here.
I really don't see how posting on talkgraphics is such an important thing. Perhaps you can explain what is going on?
Re: Delete my post and images
I have since explained some of the situation to a the admin of the forum.
I do not wish to go in to detail with every Paul, Dick and Harry on this forum.
It's rather simple. Some of the stuff here is hindering me. And I would like to have it removed.
Re: Delete my post and images
Risto,
If you want to talk privately to the moderators, there's private mail.
It was you who posted publicly, so no surprise someone asked you what this was about.
Lets hope you're rather more polite to other people. I won't cross my fingers.
Paul
Re: Delete my post and images
I posted it here - so a mod would see it... and take action.
I didn't want it public. Just action....
Hugs and kisses to you too!
Re: Delete my post and images
good luck Risto - whatever it is I hope you get it sorted
Re: Delete my post and images
FYI - posts to this forum are not public, unless a mod makes it public. Post in this forum are for mods.
I made nothing public here.
This is non of your business.
Re: Delete my post and images
the general point of asking for posts to be removed is of interest to every regular member [maybe why the thread was made public]
your business I do not wish to know - I am just being polite - peace
Re: Delete my post and images
I'll be perfectly honest I'd love to know your business (as it applies here). Especially since I have an ongoing ticket with Xara about our inability to delete our own material. But I do respect your privacy and I hope you get satisfaction. Still, I'm a nosy bugger so c'mon, entertain us!
Of course if you have posted something on here and it's turned up in a search engine and shows you in a bad light to an extant or prospective employer - that's a good reason to have everything you ever posted deleted.
That's the benefit of running your own business, LOL :thx
PS. you have every right to request, nay demand, that all of the artwork you have submitted over the years be removed. It's in the rules.:rules
Re: Delete my post and images
Don't worry, they'll not use it in the following clip art gallery. ;)
Re: Delete my post and images
I think for what ever reason a member has , it is none of our business. But yes a member should be allowed to delete posts, graphics posted, or delete their whole account if they wish to.
Will it hurt the forums ? Of course not , that is silly. I do not have the power to remove your posts and graphics Risto. I would be glad to help you if I did. Perhaps someone with the proper admin privileges will oblige your requests.

I don't think they will either do it or even be able to do it. Deleting an account is easy, but it doesn't delete any posts made by that account holder. Deleting his uploaded graphics is feasible and he has every right to request that, but deleting his posts is an almost impossible task, quite apart from the fact that this would render many threads he has contributed to meaningless or at least disjointed. Anyway, any text a user posts is deemed to be public (to the users of the forum) and afaik he has no right to request that his posts be deleted.
If there are a number of posts that he feels stop him earning money (i'm just guessing here) then he could simply ask that his account username be changed so that his posts cannot be identified to him. It's not ideal but it might get him out of this fix.
Anyway, I've just made a delicious vegetable curry and am going to sit back and enjoy it. Cheers for now, me dears!
Re: Delete my post and images
lol i find this thead funny, it's not public but it's posted in a public forum. I guess you have artwork featured here that you would like to sell exclusive rights too. Hence the reason my real work and my hobby stay seperate.
Good luck with that one.
Re: Delete my post and images
I know it is a bit late now and hope the OP manages to achieve his goal, of course he should be able to easily remove his own work.........................
For future reference for anyone else that posts artwork on any forum you would all be much better opening a seperate photobucket account or if you have your own hosting a folder that is only used for forums, then if you wish to withdraw an image from general public view or indeed if you wish to remove all of your images then it can be done easily by either deleting the image from the folder or image account or simply renaming the folder, this will then "auto" update and remove said image from every forum it has been used on.
Best of luck Risto as you have said this concerns nobody else and I hope you manage to sort the problem out :)
Re: Delete my post and images
problem is - moderator[s] have a habit of 'helpfully' adding your image to the forum, so then you are stuck like this
its in the rules that they can do this
Re: Delete my post and images
My curry was delicious. Mmmmmm :thx
Re: Delete my post and images
Hello beretgascon. Here's an idea. Just write a quick note and attach it to all your work saying 'that it is copywrited'. That way no one will try to use your work. Don't worry, we all want you to feed your family. good luck.
Re: Delete my post and images
whats the difference between:
a comic book artist and a 24 inch pizza?
answer:
a 24" pizza can feed a familly of four
this thread has run its course[s] methinks :D
Re: Delete my post and images
Hello? Xara, I replied to your email days ago... Still waiting to "discuss".
Please email me please.
Re: Delete my post and images
Having discussed this with E1 we believe the main requirement is anonymity so we have achieved this by changing his name to remove anything that identifies him. Having discussed the question of mass deletion of posts with Steve we conclude that we simply cannot do that. It would break a lot of threads, remove completely some other threads - including posts from other people who might not want their posts removed - and potentially the board software isn’t up to it. As the rules say, making a post is deemed to be making it public, everyone has to keep in mind that it ain’t easy to make something un-public!

A good thing about talkgraphics is that people haven't done as you suggest and because the threads have images hosted on talkgraphics, we haven't had old threads turn to mush as people change hosting providers or forget to renew old accounts.
Really, I think the best advice is not to post things that may prove problematic in the future, for whatever reason. For 99% of the talkgraphics population I can't really see that old posts will ever be an issue and I'd hate to see talkgraphics become full of broken images over time by following this advice.
