The one I posted in the other thread on this forum.
Oddly, Favorite and Most Often Used are different for me (I won't go into the reasons here).
I use Chrome mostly because of it's speed, though my favorite is Opera.
Internet explorer for my PC (and mostly because I am used to it)
But Opera for my mobile phone.
We only use Firefox at the office for security reasons. Even have my kids at home converted to only using Firefox. Plus I love their plugins and addons!
Was a loyal user of IE until Chrome came out - now I won't use anything else. I love its simple, non cluttered, UI. Plus it's FAST!
I use Firefox with the Chromifox Basic skin, so it looks like Chrome. I like the simple non-flashy style. I'd use Chrome but it is not compatible with Roboform which I use all the time. I also have IE7 for certain sites like banking and bill pay, etc. For some reason, FF messes up while trying to do some operations.
Opera won the game here. Speed, standards support, mouse gestures (i love this :D) and possibly other things i won't notice unless they dissapear :) I was using Firefox before (and still do when it comes to webdesign - it has good development tools) but Opera is faster and supports mouse gestures without plugins immediately after install. Chrome needs support for gestures to win this battle, currently its fast core is not enough to make it faster to use.
I have noticed bugs over past 6-8 months in firefox and now back with IE.
Getting to like Chrome
I have used opera for the past several years and I am very happy with it.
They update it regularly to keep it secure.
Current version 9.64
I have tried all the others and Opera seems to be my favorite by far.
elinks - who needs graphics when browsing the web
unfortunately more and more sites get unusable with textbrowsers :-/
Funny you should mention that.
I was married to Firefox for years but the new one is too ugly to look at, and the one I have always been using has a "memory leak" problem and completely freezes the whole computer after a few sites.
I've been messing with Opera but there are some things that bother me -- like I can't have two of them open, some fonts are too smudgy black; just little personality issues that become real tensions in a marriage.
Chrome, huh?

The appearance of Firefox could be changed if you don't like the way it is. I don't think this aspect of Firefox has changed since the previous version. I have version 3.0's appearance looking about the same as it was in version 2.0.
Edit: Probably best to try a new Profile for the memory leak or freezing. A Profile can be troublesome, especially if it's been around for version after version. It could even just be an extension causing the trouble. Try running in Firefox's Safe Mode for a while to see if the problem goes away.
Thank you. I just paid a guy $142 to not find the problem.
I'll give your ideas a try.

I like FireFox
Well, I do have IE, FF and Opera on my computers. Just to keep current for some Tech support I help with on another forum.
My personal favorite is Opera and has been for a number of years. I like the speed, the reasonable memory useage, the security features, and the user tweaks that can be done with scripts and opera:config.
V10 is in Beta testing and looks promising.
What I think is interresting is to read unbiased comparisons. Even Google has a hard time finding the unbiased browser reviews. LOL. However, this one looks pretty good _http://www.howtocreate.co.uk/browserSpeed.html You can choose Windows, Mac or Linux, and most of the current browsers are covered. After you select your platform, it will take you to a comparison page with all the shiny graphs, and explanations. It is a good read.

Currently, My favorite is Chrome because of speed and simplicity. I still use FireFox and IE sometimes because they have different features that are not available in Chrome.
I even don't know so many people use firefox. but I still use IE.
I am like Bruce! I use Chrome for speed but some features of FF are not available so I copy and paste them into FF. I found that some of the add ons in FF dramatically slowed FF down making it worse than IE for speed so I now have it back just for plain old browsing.
I love Firefox, the appearance is a non event, it works, updates are frequent and I laughed out loud - to my neighbours astonishment, when after downloading MS updates, a message popped up from Firefox stating that it had disabled one as it was harmful.... it was one of the add-ons.
Firefox for now, but like some others I too have noticed bugs and certain security issues with it of late, chrome is slowly becoming the favourite due to the speed (although hogs pc resources like mad) and simplicity. Not used ie since getting firefox a few years ago.

Firefox at present but am drifting towards Chrome more and more. Well, not entirely Chrome. I keep switching between that and SRWare's Iron Browser. This uses the same source as Chrome but doesn't have ties to Google. Read about the differences here. Both support extensions.
One is Firefox where we can install google tool bar and mnay to check page rank and many other factors. Second one is Chrome that runs with very nice speed..:)
It was IE and that's what I originally voted..
However, I have recently changed to Opera for a variety of reasons. Not least of which is the ability to stop/resume downloads even after a reboot.
Wow there was only one browser when I started using the internet (internet explorer) but now it's definitely chrome...it's so fast & intuitive!
My favorite web browser is Mozilla Firefox.
This poll was started in 2009 - maybe a reboot would prove interesting four years on?
When I started surfing internet, Internet Explorer was my first choice. Then I started using Firefox but now I big fan of chrome. Its light and easy browser. If you ask me to rate browsers, I will rate as:
1. Chrome
2. Firefox
3. IE
Although Chrome is fast, it's not the ideal browser for website info and error checking. Firefox is so very extensible, there's a plug-in or add-on for just about anything you'd need.
FF is showing its age and it is getting slowly marginalized by Chrome and to a lesser extent by IE. But I figure if I want to be an audience and get consumptive with my surfing, Chrome fits the bill, but when my internet time turns to work, I use FF and its fine collection of extensions.

My favorite browser still Mozilla Firefox, for the second I use Chrome.
I gave up on Firefox because of instability, I use Chrome for speed, but prefer Opera.
