Re: Continental Breakfast
Marvellous drawing Derek. I especially like the cloth textures
Re: Continental Breakfast
Derek, your work is unique and unmistakeably all your very own.
This is pure genius, I love it!

Bob.

Disgustingly fabulous, Derek.

Penny, you write it and I'll nail the picture too it.
Thanks to everyone else who commented as well. I was quite pleased with it considering I was originally drawing a plate of food. I'm always astonished how these things can change once you get going.
Derek
Re: Continental Breakfast
Derek your drawing style is very identifiable and pleasing to my eyes.
Even with a live worm and snail on a plate of food. :D
Re: Continental Breakfast
Love it!:D B&B in a Time of Plague!
Re: Continental Breakfast
Very gross subject matter, but expertly executed...
Again in your very unique style. Very nice... I guess.

Re: Continental Breakfast
Derek, I noticed in the wireframe that there were details that weren't visible in the main drawing, at least not on my monitor. I hope you won't mind me taking the liberty of applying a couple of bleach transparencies to clones of the drawing. I've probably over-egged the pudding, and removed some of the sinister aspect of the original, but I wanted to see what I was missing.
Saludos,
Bob.

In the background and barely visible is the wall paper, which is a drawing of a plastic chicken duplicated via the blend tool - plastic chicken wall paper was all the rage in the 14th century. The sign on the wall advertises 'unexpected vacancies due to plague', which was most likely popular as well and 'flappy' the frog, a winged dragon frog is sitting on the back of the chair.
I enjoy hidden detail even if only I know it's there, thanks for noticing.
Heres a picture I extracted 'flappy' from. This was taken before it grew wings and I left the man riding him out as that was just silly.
Derek
Re: Continental Breakfast
Tea or cup-a-soup? - probably both :D

Don't be stupid, chickens hadn't been invented in the 14th century!
I did the same as Bob, but used the levels tool to lighten the picture. I just had to know what the chickens were doing in there.

I think you'll find that was Turkeys, chickens and the depiction of same as wall decorations came over with the Romans though the frivolous depiction of poultry was banned by the Normans after the invasion and it was two hundred years before it regained popularity as a subject for wall decoration.
