A bit more icons made in Xtreme
When I was a kid we used to go to kid's summer camps. We stained each other with toothpaste by nights, told scary tales about coffin on the weels, lighted a campfires and so on.
There's some Soviet symbolism in there but that's just because Russia was a Soviet Union in my childhood and kids were stuffed with it. So don't treat it as ideological thing, it's just nostalgic :)

Re: A bit more icons made in Xtreme
Kids are kids no matter where. It is just the adult "training" that can warp a kid. Although propaganda always works best on the young and impressionable. This is true no matter what neck of the woods you call home.
Nice icons...
Ever get to roast marshmallows?

Don`t worry, we weren't in the soviet union, and we also
only had dough to put around a stick and watch it turn into bread. ;)
Oh yeah and a patatoe in aluminum foil.
Those darn Americans had it so nice with their marshmellows. ;)

Re: A bit more icons made in Xtreme

Re: A bit more icons made in Xtreme
xaaaaaaaa! Я лет пять назад ещё работал в детском лагере. Значок супер! Гроб на колёсиках тоже :) Осталось нарисовать матного гномика, пиковую даму и жвачную корову :)
(Sorry, hard to translate in English)

Re: A bit more icons made in Xtreme
The gooeyness of toasted marshmallows was part of the fun, as was catching them on fire and blowing them out quickly so that you were left with a crunchy outside(albeit slightly charred) and gooey middle:D

Re: A bit more icons made in Xtreme
I wonder if that would count as a crime against humanity... Not being able to roast marshmallows by the fire when one is a kid. If it is any consolation here is a marshmallow, you will have to find a campfire to roast it over.
Okay... okay it isn't the best. It's the thought that counts. (can I help it if it looks like a roll of TP).

Re: A bit more icons made in Xtreme
I recently bought a pack of marshmallows just to see what it is.
And I found out it's sweets! I could never imagine one roasting sweets on fire :)

Well, neither could I, until I lived in the states for a while, and I kinda liked them rosted over the fire.

Re: A bit more icons made in Xtreme
I think marshmallows are technically mostly sugar. Maybe someone will wiki them and give a link. I am too lazy.
There is a variation of roasted marshmallows called s'mores. You place the roasted marshmallow between two graham crackers along with a piece of a hersey chocalate bar (thin milk chocolate bar) the hot gooey marshmallow melts the chocolate and softens the graham cracker. Makes a delious treat that a 10 year can take pride in creating.
by the time one reaches adulthood that much sugar is revolting to most, but as a 10 year old, any sugar rush is great fun.

Erm ......have I ever mentioned about staying on topic?

Re: A bit more icons made in Xtreme
We are on topic. We are talking about his icons of when he was a kid and camping. I can't think of camping without marshmallows, so this is on topic. What did you get to roast over the campfire when you where a kid?

Re: A bit more icons made in Xtreme
The traditional method for making desktop icons from Xara has been to export as BMP and then rename the file to be a .ICO file. I need to make a transparent icon but BMP does not work for this. Trying the same trick by exporting as PNG and renaming does not work. Any clues? Is it possible?! Thanks.

Re: A bit more icons made in Xtreme
The most wonderful icon tool I've ever see is here (http://www.axialis.com).
It has photoshop plugin to transfer images with alfa channel, and maybe it will work with Xara.
You can produce icons in seconds with this program. I suggest to try it at least.

Re: A bit more icons made in Xtreme
I use a freeware Icon editor - http://icofx.ro/

Re: A bit more icons made in Xtreme
Thanks Sculptex! Axialis looks good but for a one-off project IcoFx worked a treat. To get the transparency, the easiest option was to export from Xtreme as a PNG and then import that image into IcoFx. Thanks.

Re: A bit more icons made in Xtreme
Incredibly good work, I love your icons and also the videos.
At the same time, I am depressed because I never can be.
Xara Group or Magix should employ you as a teacher! ;)
I've seen a lot of icons, most are created with PS, but the quality rarely seen!
With your work you present very impressive performance of the application of Xara Xtreme!
