New subversion (v.1.2) of XetupX is now available.
It has new tool named AutoXave© http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
This is not a new registry setting feature, but tool that forces Xara to save your job periodically.
Hove does it vork? Run XetupX, set your favorite settings in AutoXave page, but DO NOT exit from XetupX. This tool works only while XetupX is executed. You may just minimise it.
Now, if you work with any version of Xara starting from CorelXARA1.0 till XaraX1, you'll get periodical automatic savings. Some more rules:
1. This happends only when Xara is active window (you work in it).
2. XetupX have to be not closed.

I'd like to see an auto incrementing filename e.g. original_filename_001.xar then 002.xar etc, rather than saving all my eggs in one basket.
I'm finding XetupX very handy.

Bravo :-)
This version will also be available in the Xara Xone Shareware page.

Hello Covoxer http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
I´ve downloaded Xetup X for the first time and i´m trying it now. Nice feature set!!!!
AS DD sugested it would very cool if you can implement auto incrementing filenames. In previous Xara version (Xara X) sometimes when saving complicated documents, with lots of objects, Xara X crashed and screw up the file making it unusable.Althought this never hapened to me with my current version (XARA X1C CD)i think it´s another (good)reason to create an auto imcrement file saving system. (speccialy for those still using the older version (Xara X).
Note: there a small typo in advanced tab at the bottom:
Show hints at STARTUP http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
Thank you for such usefull utility!
Best regards,
Miguel B.

Thanks John,
Will try it and give you a good critique. Good points and bad.

This problem may be easilly avoided if you set 'Make backup files before save' in Advanced tab.
Then if you have saving crush, you may go to the folder where your .xar file was locate, and find samenamed .bak file. Just rename it to *.xar and you'll get your last version of .xar file.
To DD:
Numerating files is a good idea! Can't promise you anything, but I will thik about it.
Thank you all for such a fast responce!
If you'll find any troubles, bugs or missconviniencies using XetupX, just post it here or mail me.

Hey John/covoxer,
That's fantastic! I have it running now and will keep it running - great work.
I have a suggestion - so that XetupX is not accidentally closed, could it 'minimise' to the System Tray instead of the Task Bar?
Do you have a Paypal/similar address to which I can send a token of my appreciation for your work?

Yes, I was thinking about it too. I think it will be so in next subversion (like 1.3). I just hadn't time to advance further than I did.
I was working on AutoXave for one evening (friday, when I ansvered your post, remember? http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/wink.gif ).
p.s. look in your private messages.

Thank you John ... your contributions and efforts are greatly appreciated.

Both you and Dmitry have contributed so much with easy to understand but dynamic little apps. Bravo to you both!! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
Super duper, this is the best one of these types of apps to be released so far! Thanks much!! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

EXCELLENT TOOL OVERALL! THANKS!
I would like to make a request that the autosave interval be saved so I don't have to set it each time... that, with minimizing to the system tray (or at least an option), would be perfect.

Infact it is saved every time you exit Xetup. So if you run it again all settings are restored. Try and you'll see http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Actually, it does not save the autosave time for me. I set it to 10 minutes, then I use "exit"... when I reopen, it is reset to 120...
FYI, I am on win2k...

Yes you are right. You have just found a bug! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/frown.gif
It always happened if you use 'Save all' mode and switch tabs in XetupX or restart it.
You may use 'Save only active' mode instead.
But anyway you may just download fixed version. Please visit XetupX bugfix topic.
Thank you!

John,
Thank you so much for this great little program. I don't know really how to use the other options other than the autosave, but I'm looking forward to the great benefit this will bring.
