Familiar Fonts in unfamiliar settings
The challenge is to use a well-known font, but to change its characteristics - colour, fill, whatever, and place it in a context
not generally associated with its normal use. So the challenge has two parts, work out where you would normally expect to see any posted font in this challenge, and disguise and post a font that will prevent people from working out where they saw it originally.
There are a lot of famous fonts available for free, if you need them just google "famous fonts".
Here's one for you to identify to start things off.
Saludos,
Bob.

My understanding is that Bob has taken a 'Movie Title Font' and used different wording to disguise the origins.
Rather like using the StartTrek font to write 'I'm a little teapot' - you'd recognise the font, but it might not come to you straight away where you actually know it from :)
-
Re: Familiar Fonts in unfamiliar settings
That's OK then, that's what I've done :) Though, 'movies' might become ... other things :D
-
Re: Familiar Fonts in unfamiliar settings
...absolutely.. I was using Bobs OP as an example.
Any famous font would work I assume, provided of course that the font was famous because it is unique only to that original purpose, like the Coke font for example?

It is :) The 'upper case' letters are a dead give away, which is why I didn't use them :D

Steve was spot on with Indiana Jones,
John, I'm struggling with post number 4, I know I've seen it somewhere.
The Blake poem looks like a horror movie font, it's not Nightmare on Elm St.
I'll Go for Dracula.
HMS Sutherland has me beat, unless it's a sci-fi movie?
Mine has nothing to do with movies. In case there's any doubt,
it's the text with the yummy cheese filling.
Saludos,
Bob.

On reflection, I think post 4 is A Clockwork Orange.
The Parallel Bars are Lord of the Rings?
The Kenny Rogers quote will take some working out.
This one's not a movie either.

Bob.

Re: Familiar Fonts in unfamiliar settings
Yes it's Hot Pizza, John. I knew the "z" would give it away.
I hope Messrs. Olivetti won't think I'm trying to put down
their fine products with this effort. It's the grey font that
needs to be identified here.
Saludos,
Bob.

Correct! :) I've been staring at your image but I can't get Flintstones out of my head - a strange affliction :p I'll think 'TV' and try again.
BTW: post #30 is TV too - 2, 9 and 10 aren't.:)

Re: Familiar Fonts in unfamiliar settings
Correct answer to post #30 withdrawn ......
I feel guilty as I came across this font whilst searching for fonts to make puzzles. I also came across the font I used in Post #37, and realised that it may therefore not be as difficult as I hoped as the font seems to be fairly common.
Took some of the fun away. Sorry.

Re: Familiar Fonts in unfamiliar settings
Keith, I think we used the same font. Except You used all caps and I used upper and lower :)
