A New Year and time to show us what you are working on :)
Happy New Year Bill,
I needed a playing card a few days back.
Happy New Year Egg.
Nice looking card. I could use a deck of cards like that, easy to see the type in the corners.
Egg - Why is the bottom "J " reversed?
Pardon the off topic. You can get them in certain catalogs Soquili. I get a few for helping with disabilities and I've seen them for people with eye sight problems.
Nive design Egg. Looks very real.:)
"Eye" have no idea yet, what this will turn into, but.... I was doodlin around and suddenly I had this, eye:)
I will continue pokin away at it until it's done....
The wire & the .xar included
Keith,
Whoops, I've got a red face now! Fortunately the bottom section wasn't required in the final drawing!Quote:
Egg - Why is the bottom "J " reversed?
This may yet be a long time coming,
but at least I've made a start. It was started
on New Year's Day, but I've only done the easy bit!
Saludos,
Bob.
Hi everybody, just playing around trying toget a peter stanick look...regards tao
Still in progress - also, perhaps they should look a bit more cheerful..........
Thanks DAL I found a local source of Jumbo Index/Sight Saver cards.
Paul isn't it great when doodles take on a life of their own and become something totally unexpected.
Bob you have a great start. The perspective is spot on.
Roger I like your work better than Peter's. Your colours are more vivid and the lines are more crisp.
Penny your design is wonderful. A smile would help make the couple look more cheerful.
Penny,
Very elegant! The dancers show very nice movement and proportion. Great choice of font too.

An update to an old drawing of mine from 2001. Along with an outline view.
The original post can be found here. The .xar of the original image can be found in post #4 of that thread. I had been using Xara X for about 3 to 4 months back then :o
The update consists of editing fills and transparencies. The shapes are all the same as the original.
Very nice watch, Bill.

Wow, such creative work from everyone. I'm always stuck on wheels and wings. Kind of in a rut I guess. This is the start of a project on the p38 Lightning. It will be a mixed Xara vector and raster painting.
Thanks Ron.
Gray the P38 is looking very good. It was a very radical design for it's time.
Thanks, Bill. The p38's were a very original looking design that performed very well. They were definitely "fork tailed devils" in flight.
Now that's a heck of a nice time piece there. :)
Anime style once again. It's not final version but I'm not sure yet what to do about the background etc.
No it wasn't ;-)
Fokker's G-1 first flew on march 16, 1937. The P-38's maiden flight was almost two years later, on januari 27, 1939.
It's interesting to see how fast engine development went at that time. Although the two planes were almost the same size, the P-38 had over twice the amount of horsepower the Fokker had. Although this was also related to the fact that the Merlin engines Fokker had wanted to use weren't available in the tense years before WWII.

The attached image is a part of my flash file. It is done in Xara Xtreme Pro. and 3D6.
Cool characters and graphics Suvek and Ren
Franzs, there sure were some interesting twin boom designs from the 40's that we never see now.
Still doing poker chip designs... latest inlays (all 100% vector images)
http://img530.imageshack.us/img530/6...frontlgpb4.pnghttp://img530.imageshack.us/img530/7600/1kbacklgnm7.png
Of course in print they'll be either 1" or 7/8" depending on which chip they go on. and I need to do at least four of the back with different cowboy images on them.
Tinkering with some quick shapes.
Nice piece of work Bill. I took a copy of it pasted it into xaraPro copied and padted it till I had filled the screen then stared at it and the end affect nearly screwed up my brain.
Norman I hope your brain was not hurt from viewing the image ;)
That produced a really neat effect Bill. Good combination of textures.
Something that I'm working on inspired by portraits and use of ellipses of USSR-RUSS and LOGOVEND ...
JokeArtist,
That's a great piece of work. Hope you post the finished product for us!
Very nice image JokeArtist.
JokeArtist,
I like your picture so much and I like somebody use my tutorials :)))))
The picture I`ve put is just a trial to make a glass wall in the bar.
Awesome rendering! Very professional.

Valery,
Is that all done using XaraXtreme??
Fantastic...
Some very nice work here from everyone.
Awesome Start Jokeartist. I have to agree with the rest, Please post the completed piece.
Just for those who have not experienced the wonders of Valery's work Take a look at Sarah X. To this day I am still awed by most of his pieces, but this ones is a masterpiece.:)
This piece deserves to be bumped to the top every now and then.
Valery... not to burst any bubbles but.... would that glass wall "really" be a good idea in a bar?????
Although, it might prove quite good fun to be sitting on the other side of it, to watch people walking into it like birds:D I bet the ticket sales for those seats would go like hot-cakes;)
I`m so sorry.
Picture was done in 3D program, but I decided to add a glass, for to try to do like real glass. Only glass. Only try to make glass effect. No more. :)
Excellent work Valery. You make the 'glass wall' appear to be part of the 3D rendered image.
Sorry Valery, I was just making a joke:) I think the vector wall looks great... very real looking.
